"Derek, you know I wasn't operated on my feet right? I can walk." You chuckled. Your colleague carried you up the steps of your apartment building and set you down once you reached the elevator. "I know, I know." He said, pressing the button.
You ended up being in the hospital for two whole days, because you had lost quite a bit of blood it took you a bit longer to recover just enough so you were cleared to fly home.
"But thank you for dropping me off, that's very kind of you." You placed the hand from your good arm on his bicep and gave it a light squeeze. "Yeah... I was really worried about you. We all were." He said, looking down at you, his eyebrows furrowed. His dark eyes tried to find yours but you looked down at the ground instead.
Once the elevator door opened you both stepped in. "You know who seemed the most out of it?" He asked you. You shrugged and shook your head no.
"Hotch."
Your heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name and you even felt your cheeks getting warmer. "Yeah well," you began "he was right at the door, facing the UnSub who had me in a chokehold after stabbing me in the shoulder and threatening to slit my throat."
"Yeah, that too. I'm just saying, Y/N. That man was a straight up mess. I've known him for many years now and he barely ever cracks." Morgan explained as you walked out of the elevator and strolled to your front door. You put your key in the lock and you stood in the doorframe. "You coming in? For coffee?" You asked. He dropped your go-bag off in front of the door.
He shook his head no, "no thanks. I'm gonna get some sleep too."
You nodded at his response, "thanks again for dropping me off."
"No bother, just making sure you're safe." He smiled, his eyes showing a little sparkle. He turned around and began walking away, before disappearing around the corner he turned his face to you once more and said "oh and Y/N. Call him."
You slowly nodded at him before he walked away. Once you kicked your go-bag inside, you closed your front door, you were immediately greeted by Elio stumbling over your feet and running in between your legs. You scooped him up with your good arm into a little ball and carried him over to the living room. "Hey little guy. I missed you too."
You fed him some catcandy and then went to change into something more comfortable. Your shoulder blade was bandaged up and you needed to clean it out every day to keep it from infecting. Luckily you were prescribed a lot of painkillers as well. You needed to prevent moving it around too much the first couple of days.
After putting on a Nike sweatset in an awfully clumsy manner you sat down on the couch and unlocked your phone. You went in your contact list and looked at your recents, only seeing your bosses name and your moms a couple of times.
Your thumb hovered over his contact name 'Hotchner'. You looked at it for a few seconds, slowly beginning to dissociate until your doorbell pulled you out of your trance.
You put your phone away and walked over to the door, peeking through the peephole and seeing Hotchner at the other side. You couldn't help but smile a little and opened the door. "Hi"
"Hey" he smiled softly. He had his arm behind his back and suddenly he held out a little brown bag in front of your face. "I brought breakfast. I figured you hadn't eaten yet."
"I haven't actually-" you smiled, taking the bag in your hands. "Salmon and cream cheese bagel. Your favourite. Oh and with avocado."
You audibly gasped as he said your favourite bagel order out loud, he even remembered the avocado. A couple of months ago you had bagels delivered to the office when you all had to do paperwork and Hotch was the one to put the orders in then. "You're crazy" you chuckled as you opened the top of the bag. "I got myself one too." He smiled
