Maeve furrowed her brows confused. She scrutinized him with her strong gaze set straight on him. On a corner table, inside the Mystic Grill she sat having her breakfast when a silhouette moved past her and stood in front before they took a seat in front of her.

She went over every possible scenario she could think of.

"What are you looking at?" he asked her mildly from the seat across from her. He set his hands on the table, fingers interlocked.

"Nothing much. Just trying to figure out what went wrong at 10 in the morning." she whisper yelled enunciating the time.

"Nothing's wrong." she swallowed the bite but still held up the hand that gripped the fork.

"Who died?"

"No one."

"Kidnapped?"

"No."

"Who's here?"

"Nobody."

"Damon did something."

"For once no."

"Klaus is here."

"No."

"Werewolves?"

"No."

"Definitely witches."

"I can assure you there are no threats heading this way."

"Then why are you dressed in a suit at 10am if not for a meeting?"

She smiled along his chuckle diffusing her worry that bubbled up in her head, "I came here to talk to you."

"Oh... that's not worrying at all then." She slumped back in her seat. "What's up, Elijah?"

"How are you? After yesterday's events."

"Slept it off. So, I'm feeling better. Having Mac and cheese for breakfast with a cup of extra strong bittersweet coffee. Being swell." She smiled lifting up her coffee mug and taking a large sip.

"That's good to hear. Dr Martin wanted me to give you this." Elijah reached into his pocket and fished out a small object and set it on the table. Maeve reached over and picked it up. She gasped in surprise.

"It...it's beautiful. Thank you." Maeve stared in awe at the small minimalist design ring with a metal band and a small red diamond set on top like a crown.

"He made it for you. The herbs that you have been using so far are infused into the band, this way you wouldn't have to worry about the ring breaking." Elijah explained it to Maeve. "He also mentioned this should help control your magic."

Maeve smiled putting on the ring on her left middle finger. "I'm guessing he told you the whole truth about myself."

"He did. I guessed your powers were more than that of a young witch." Elijah complimented her. "Throughout the centuries I've lived, I have heard stories in passing by our former friends, trusted allies, about these covens of witches who were said to be stronger than a thousand witches combined. Their strength was in their unity."

"Until Salem trails. When other witches and witch fearing people drove them to extinction." Maeve added on. Elijah's lips parted as he grew unsure of his next words. "It's cool, Elijah don't look like you just killed my puppy."

"You've kept yourself hidden for so long. I understand that you fear being found. But isn't it correct that you have more power than an average witch? If that is the case then why hide? It is obvious you can take on anyone."

Maeve laughed darkly hanging her head low before looking up again, "just because I shoved you in the forest, doesn't mean things are easy. I... don't have control over my powers. Whatever happens it does when I feel any emotion strongly."
