Maeve stormed through the Abbatoir. The setting sun was casting a golden shadow on the compound. She had one thing on her mind. Just that. Nothing else.
Murmurs of voice floated out from the dining room. She turned the course of her path and headed it's way with a determined expression.
"Hey Maeve! Join us." someone said, approaching her with a glass of scotch in hand.
"You!" she ignored the invite and held a strong stare on Marcel who sat at the head of the long table. "We need to talk." the room feel dangerously silent following her threatening word.
"Goodbye Marcel." wished Diego before he downed his glass of scotch. "You're on your own." all fifteen something vampires in the room scurried out of the room leaving Marcel alone to face Maeve.
He nervously gulped and kept his eyes staring at Maeve who prowled over to him.
The legs of the chair screeched as they were dragged on the floor. Maeve situated the chair next to Marcel and sat down facing the said man with anger in her eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me Nik was in the city? Has been for what seems like about three months now? Or that you had Elijah stacked somewhere here...all this while?"
Marcel licked his lips contemplating his words carefully. "Oh, uh...you see I just figured you wanted nothing to do with any of them--considering what happened with Elijah."
Maeve rolled her eyes and leaned back in the chair. Her eyes bored into Marcel, a silent stare was enough for Marcel to gulp and be more nervous than ever. "Maybe it was a bad idea."
"You think?" she asked, "look, I don't give a fuck about Elijah? Okay? But I do for the rest of them. It matters to me what is going on with the rest of them."
"Really?" asked Marcel attempting to sound surprised.
"Yes. So please if there is anything else you need to tell me...tell me now." Marcel fell silent. Maeve watched him blink his eyes and slowly lean back into the chair. Marcel never flinched his eyes away from Maeve, while his head was running in a spiral about what to say.
Should he tell her the entire truth about Davina? Should he tell her that she has Elijah? Would it be better for everyone if he told Maeve that Davina wanted to find a way to kill an original without hurting him and Josh? Or was it also a wise decision to tell Maeve about his true intentions with every move he's made thus far with her, with Davina and now even Klaus?
All the thoughts ran around his head and then--after a minute he decided to speak, "nothing else."
Maeve smiled genuinely. She believed his words and Marcel was content with the reaction. Maeve was quite the naive girl whom Marcel knew, could make do all that he wanted with the right words and a few kind gestures.
"And..." began Maeve but Marcel cut her off,
"I didn't think telling you that he raised me would be important."
"Marcel Gerard! I just can't with you." she shook her head in denial and stood up from the chair.
"Monkey..."
"You listen to me now and listen to me clearly..." she began, looking at him sharply. "I don't care what sort of old time bad blood you have with the man who raised you, but if you and this war that you two plan on waging against one another is going to burn this city and me and my plan into flames, I will murder you both."
Marcel nodded his head frantically in response. Maeve smiled at him, "enjoy your dinner."
