Evening settled in surprisingly on a harmonious note. Maeve sat against the headboard, half leaning on Elijah. His hand was draped around her, resting on her waist. His finger traced the scar on her waist.
"I was thinking of tattooing over it, you know." said Maeve finding it as the perfect excuse to steal his hand away from the scar.
"Really?" Elijah hummed along, taking the hint and now took his arm away from her waist and rested it on her shoulder, fingers locking with hers.
Sun was almost at the horizon now. The Tea must have been a sight to see. Maeve knew at the time, inside the living room, every single one of the Alphas would be prancing on Amara with their harsh words. Neither of them were ever going to accept her as the Alpha.
"What is your plan?" Elijah asked her. Maeve shifted her head on his chest and gazed into his eyes. "You said you have a plan." Maeve hummed. She pulled the sheets closer to her body and rested her head on the bed.
"I'll tell you soon." Maeve murmured gazing deeply into his eyes. Elijah smiled looking at her. "Dinner?" she asked him.
"Hmm, how about some Pizza?" he suggested making Maeve crack a grin.
A second passed before Maeve finally asked him, "what do you think happened at the tea?"
Elijah shifted to lay on his side before he said, "I don't think anyone was happy about the decision. I just hope that Amara wouldn't have to take the heat all on herself."
"Me too." She looked at him, a soung hum leaving with a short breath. "I hope it doesn't come to insults. Which may I add is a common occurence."
"If we are taking the lunch for reference I don't find it that hard to believe." he remarked with a snide smirk.
"We just wait...for now. I'll quickly talk to auntie and Zeke and rush out soon. Then you and I can go for a Pizza run. Is that okay?"
"Would love that." Elijah bent down and placed a quick soft kiss on her lips. Maeve closed her eyes humming into the kiss.

Just before dinner, at the time when dusk was slowly dissolving into the night sky, Maeve hastily rushed out from her room. She had reconfirmed from one of the many helpers that the tea had lasted almost two hours long than usual. Leaving Elijah to his own thoughts and devices inside her room, Maeve sprinted down the long hallway, across the foyer and stood looking at her best──atleast attempting to look at her best, without giving off any signs of the events she had indulged in, just minutes before.
Her welcoming smile was received much like she had anticipated──with sourness and scowling disgust.
"Hope to see you all tomorrow for the Gala." she had repeated herself numerous times with a warm smile, loving every time they turned away in disgust or simply walked past her ignoring her completely.
