Maeve sat inside a diner with a cold bag pressed to her head. Her eyes still drooped with black bags under her eyes. A tray was pushed in front of her carrying a plate of pancakes with butter on top it with a cup of coffee next to it.
"I feel like death." said Maeve, stretching the syllables.
"I fed you my blood. It seems it hasn't had any effects on you." noted Klaus, taking a sip of coffee from his own cup.
"It has. Just the after effects of the silver. Think of it as hangover." she tried explaining. "On to another point, why are we here? Shouldn't we be in Mystic Falls, murdering the one who's to stay dead?"
"We should be, but you need food. After what happened last night, you need to have some food in you."
Maeve nodded along. "Wh──where's he?"
"Inside the truck. I have compelled a man to keep snapping his neck just as he so much as stirs." informed Klaus, keeping it short and summed up.
She hated herself for trusting those who didn't deserve to be trusted. She hated that she had let them walk all over her.
"Hey." Maeve lifted up her head to see Rebekah standing by the table. Maeve shifted inside letting Rebekah slide into the booth to sit next to her.
"What exactly happened in Mystic Falls? I mean, torturing you with Silver was a pretty terrible move." began Rebekah slicing a piece of the pancake for herself. "What all went down?"
"I'll tell you all, just not now. I need to not be bloodthirty because all I want right now is rip through people until all that is left is their shreds."
Rebekah grabbed Maeve's hands ignoring her indirect request to be left alone. Maeve felt a quick sharp pain in her head before the entire year at Mystic Falls flashed before her eyes. Maeve gasped snatching her hands away from Rebekah. Her eyes net Rebekah's that now looked glassed with rage.
"She looked through my memories!" complained Maeve looking over at Klaus. "I didn't know you could do that!" whispered Maeve, shocked.
"Yes we can." answered Rebekah instead. "How could you not see what they were doing?"
"Right. Only you were left to lecture me. Elijah did it, this one here──did it. Now you." Maeve slumped back in her seat. "I am sorry I put my trust in the wrong people. I am sorry I cared. I won't anymore." She looked at Klaus,
"You once told me that love is a vampire's greatest weakness. I see it now. Caring about a world that doesn't deserve it only hurts us. Thank you for being a better friend, acquaintance...whatever you want to say than them. I realise my mistakes now."
"Well! Sooner the better." smiled Klaus cheering his cup of coffee.
"Thanks for not killing me." she said smiling tiredly at Klaus.
"I don't have a reason to kill you. If anything I am glad I've got you on my team."
"Is he really being nice to me just like that or has the sun risen from the west?"
"I think both." joked Rebekah.
"Like one of you was not enough." said Klaus, grumpily.
"You know you've grown to like me." Maeve said teasingly. All three laughed following Maeve's words. As thankful as she was the first time Maeve Kalon strolled into the town of Mystic Falls, she was more thankful now being in company of two originals.
Maeve laughter died down in a split second, her smile faltering as an unnerved scared look glazed over like a storm. "What is it?" asked Rebekah growing cautious suddenly.
