Larry and Sal stared at Molly with wide eyes as they watched her eat. Neither of them could believe how hungry Molly was, or had been. Molly was already on her fourth slice of pizza and she had been eating like her food was about to be taken from her at any second. Larry and Sal were pretty shocked at how a small girl like Molly could even eat that much. A wave of sadness took over Sal and Larry, mostly Sal, seeing how Molly seemed so desperate just to eat. The two boys felt incredibly sorry for her, since they both have such big hearts.
Eventually, Molly looked up from her plate and noticed Sal and Larry staring blankly at her. Molly's face grew red out of utter embarrassment once she had realized that she's been eating so fast, and eating quite a lot. Molly set her pizza down on her plate as her heart sank into her stomach. "S-sorry..." Molly said quietly, she had felt guilty for some odd reason.
Larry and Sal each give Molly a small smile, and feel even worse when they hear Molly apologize. "What for?..." Sal asks Molly curiously, with a hint of concern.
"I didn't mean to, you know, eat so fast- I didn't mean to eat all of your food..." Molly says quietly again, with a bit of a shaky voice.
Sal sighs at this, he can't fathom what pain she has been through, and why she would even feel the need to apologize for simply eating.
"Dude, don't worry! We're just glad you're enjoying... besides, I eat WAY quicker than that when I'm stoned." Larry chuckles as he reaches across the table and pats Molly on the shoulder.
Molly looks back down at her plate and smiles a bit after Larry says this. Larry then gets up and starts to clean the kitchen after they've eaten, but Sal just continues to look at Molly. Sal notices that this is the second time he's ever seen Molly smile, and that her smile is rather beautiful. He felt odd for a moment that he was starting to count the amount of times he's seen her genuine smile. But since it's so rare, he decides that he should cherish it for as much as he can. He's glad that she finally had a reason to smile, and hopes that he will see it a lot more.
After cleaning the kitchen, Larry notices Sal staring at Molly as she continues to finish her food. Larry walks behind sal and pinches him in the side, which causes Sal to flinch. Sal then turns around and looks at Larry and throws his arms up in a 'What the hell?' type of expression.
"Stop staring, it's weird!" Larry mouths to Sal before walking away and plopping down on the couch. Sal had no idea that his staring was obvious, and he starts to turn a little bit red. Thankfully you can't tell due to his mask.
"Yo! Do you guys want to watch Evil Dead or Nightmare on Elm Street?" Larry asks Sal and Molly as he looks through his VCR tapes.
Molly looks up again from her plate in shock. She assumed Larry and Sal were just being polite by inviting her in for dinner, she wasn't expecting them to actually want her to stay. "Wait, you are fine if I stay?" Molly asks with a bit of relief in her voice, anything was better than going back to her apartment with her dreadful family.
"Duh!" Larry says nonchalantly as he takes a joint out of his pocket and starts to light it.
"Well, of course! You're our friend now, so you can hang with us for as long as you'd like..." Sal says sweetly, but a bit awkwardly since he does still feel a bit nervous around girls. Sal then walks over to the couch and sits at the opposite end as Larry. Larry is sitting on the part of the couch that is closest to the window so that he can blow the smoke out.
Molly smiles a bit again at what Sal said to her. She had "friends" at school, but none of them are nearly as sweet and welcoming as these two boys were. She was lucky if her friends from school even acknowledged her presence. Molly then sat up from the table and threw her empty plate away in the trashcan before joining the two boys on the couch. The only open spot on the couch was right in the middle, right in between the two of them. Molly felt slightly awkward squeezing in between them, but she still was starting to feel more comfortable with them. Larry then looks at Molly with his eyes already glossy and red, and he holds his blunt out to her, asking her if she'd like to take a hit from it.
