Teagan

It's been a little over a month since the incident with the rogues happened.

Since then, it's been nothing but radio silence. And it's driving me fucking crazy.

Any moment now, and I'll snap. The worst part is knowing that's inevitable.

I could feel myself becoming more and more paranoid.

Dacota has told me multiple times that I need to tone it down just a little bit.

Guess I was overdoing it.

The silence though. It's the worst part because you don't know what to expect next. Or when.

The anticipation was killing me from the inside out and the pack was growing more restless by the day.

I'd banned pack members from going out for hunts, runs, or anything else for as long as the threat remains.

The only people allowed to leave were those essential to making the pack needs were met via orders.

But now, I had a bunch of restless wolves on my hands.

Board games, movie nights and Simon Says are fun for only so many rounds.

Yet, here I was sitting in my office.

Twiddling my thumbs and stressing myself out by reciting the one thing my father drilled into my head.

"The moment you let your guard down, shit will hit the fan."

An alpha should be prepared for anything at all times. Right?

A few days after the attack, I informed my head warrior, Grayson, that I wanted the pack to train like we used to.

That decision came after I announced the ban on leaving pack grounds.

My teens started getting into unnecessary trouble and fighting each other.

The pups spent too much time at home. And everyone else was just bored or snappy.

So I did the next best thing. I set forth a rigorous training plan.

It would help with the restlessness, give my wolves somewhat of an outlet.

Gives the teens somewhere to work and workout their petty anger.

It gave the enforcers and warriors something to look forward to as the made weekly bets on the 'leaderboard'.

Whatever. As long as they're content.

In the end though, I got what I really wanted. To make us more formidable against any opponent.

Even when you don't go looking for problems, they'll just find you instead.

I was also hiding out in my office.

Pretending to be busy with paperwork in order to get some semblance of peace and quiet.

Hence why I'm really just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.

Why am I hiding out in my office? Dacota.

He's has been hovering by my side constantly. I can understand, but I also can't understand why.

As my Beta, I can understand his job is to ensure that no harm came to me as his Alpha.

However, his primary job is to make my job of Alpha just a tad easier. Right now, it's anything.

Then there was the added fact that I was his best friend.
