"How stupid am I?" I asked sighing. Noel and I were in his living room drinking coffee and discussing the details of the last week. I mean except the sex parts.

"I know you don't want to hear this. But you sound incredibly stupid." Noel says.

"Ugh! Oh God, I don't know. I just knew that letting Priscilla kill that baby was wrong."

"But Andy is the father."

"He was selling drugs! He has good intentions. But a bad way of going through on them."

"Maybe this is what he needs to grow up. This is his second chance." Noel defends.

"Honestly Noel, how many second chances has Andy had? You can't relive your second chances through kids. I think we both know that never works." I said.

"Thank you. For that." He sighs sipping his coffee.

"I meant I just think that I shouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt."

"You're his metaphoric coffee. You're stunting his growth because you take his punishments. This baby is his responsibility. I know you hate to think of Andy having anything to worry about but this baby is what he has to worry about. You taking the baby from him is preventing him from learning from his mistakes. You have a great big heart and you only want what's best but you need to keep in mind the right thing isn't always what is needed in situations regarding children." Noel said.

"I know. But I'm not taking my chances. I made a commitment. I will go through."

"Well on that note. I'll call you a lawyer. Are you still taking Jasper to get fitted while I'm at my meeting?" He asked. I groaned. I had totally forgot about the birthday party.

"Yeah, I have everything under control." I lied. I had to meet Priscilla at the hospital to make sure the baby was okay. I also had a meeting with my parents lawyers and I needed to get down to the court and see about getting emancipated.

"If you need any help please call me." He says walking out the door. I nod and smile.

I wasn't calling him.

"Come on Jasper." I said sliding my shoes on and tying my hair up in a ponytail. Jasper bounced down the stairs and almost tripped on a teddy bear.

"I'm ready!" He shouted tackling my legs.

"Great. One small stop first." I said bending down to pick him up. I buttoned him into the back and got in the front pulling out of the driveway and down to my house.

"Now that your money's gone are you going to come live with daddy and I?" I sighed and racked my brain for ways to explain I wasn't someone made to have parents. Explain that having adults in my life was more a poison than anything.

"Um, not exactly." I said softly licking my lips.

"But daddy is so excited. He even made you a room." I sighed staring at the road. As I was about to speak my phone rang saving me from hurting this kids feelings.

"Hello?" I answered softly.

"Is this Peyton Elizabeth Andrews?" A male voice asked strictly.

"Yes sir, who is this?"

"This is the Indiana police department, we have Stephanie Quinn Andrews here with us? Are you her guardian?" The man asked. I looked at Jasper in the backseat as he was playing with his action figures. My breathing was frantic and I could barely listen to the man as he asked me repeatedly if I was Quinn's guardian.
