"Yeah, you're just being stupid." Andy's voice rang from across the table we sat at. Andy had called and was being extremely relaxed.
"Thanks." I muttered running a hand through my hair.
"I mean, you're mad at too many people. Do you love Asher?"
"Of course I love him.
"Do you see yourself being with him? Do you see yourself being his?"
"Everyday."
"Then why are you making up excuses not to marry him."
"Why can't we wait?"
"Let tell you something. Guys get tired of waiting. If a guy waits around for you he's going to start wondering what's out there. Who isn't going to make them wait."
"Why are you here?"
"I wanted to talk to you about Holdyn."
"I don't think now is the right time. With school just starting and things."
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I made you look like that bad guy in court. I'm sorry that I didn't say sorry when you came all this Christmases. I'm sorry that it took me this long to be sorry."
"I forgive you."
"You shouldn't. You shouldn't even have accepted to do this. I made you look stupid in front of a courtroom."
"It's over now. I mean I can't force someone to love me."
"But I did love you. I still do."
"I know we were best friends. I read us all wrong."
"No, you read is correctly. You were right. I was in love with you but I got scared."
"Scared of what?"
"Scared that we wouldn't be Andy and Peyton. That we'd be some puke couple who had sex at the bottom of the staircase and in the Russian literature section of the library."
"Hm."
"It was stupid on my part because I believed you were still in love with Heath. Like you still wanted to be with him."
"I did. Heath was my first time. My first love. I still love Heath."
"But not the same way you love Asher."
"Not the same way I love Asher not the same way I love you. Not the same way."
"Guys aren't your strong spot."
"Not really." I admitted sipping a drink from one of my glasses.
"I think you should say yes. I mean think about it. April and Andy got married three weeks after they started dating."
"Are you honestly bringing up Parks and Recs references?" I asked laughing.
"I mean as much as I watch fuckng Netflix with you. It wasn't just to be close. Netflix is good."
"You're a joke."
"You bet I am." He smiles rubbing the stubble on his chin.
"I should apologize shouldn't I?" I asked.
"Holdyn needs a dad and I rather it be Asher. But promise me something."
"What?"
"Promise me you tell him that I love him. And that I wanted him but I couldn't take care of him. Tell him that I couldn't mentally take care of a child. Tell him this story. The whole thing. From our start all of it. Tell him how I was and that Priscilla changed me. Tell him that if he ever wants to. If he wants to meet me I'll be up for it."
