My Shooting Star

Chapter 2

Astra's POV
It was an hour later, Alya and I were now at school. Alya had already gone to the gym as that was her first lesson, I was walking through the corridor to my first lesson - French. I quite like French, we only had a small class of about 15 people. As I continued to walk towards the classroom, I knew that during the lesson, Mr Blake was going to ask me whether or not I was okay with tutoring Phoenix.
As soon as I walked into my classroom, Mr Blake was ready to speak to me. "Astra, good morning! I'm so sorry you didn't get house captain- you would have done an amazing job. I just wanted to ask if you have thought any more about tutoring Phoenix?"
"Morning. Umm, yeah I will tutor him." I replied shyly.
"Great! You can go tell him now. The sooner he gets help with his coursework, the better of a grade he will get." Mr Blake replied enthusiastically. Oh shit, I thought to myself. I forgot I would have to talk to Phoenix. I took a deep breath and walked over to him. "Hi." I shyly announced my presence when I got next to his desk.
"Oh hi, Astra. Are you okay?" He smiled when he looked up at me. "Umm yeah, I'm good. Mr Blake has asked me to tutor you, he said you need some help with your course work." I shyly told him, hoping he isn't mad that I'd got to tutor him.
"That would be amazing. Thank you so much. I've been struggling with keeping up with the coursework with all my training and practices. I could meet you at lunch and you could help me then?" His response shocked me. He wasn't mad and wanted to start working straight away.
"Yeah. I could have lunch." I agreed and went back to my seat to start the lesson.
At lunch, we sat down with Alya and I began re-teaching him basic tenses and greetings, just to make sure he knew it all. "Thanks a lot for helping me, Astra! I appreciate it." He said to me smiling and working on the tenses worksheets.
"It's no problem!" I exclaimed, smiling and looking for more worksheets. I looked towards Alya and saw Leo storming over towards us. "What is he doing?" I questioned and nudged Phoenix. He looked up just as Leo stormed over glaring at me and I'm "What are you doing with the bitch?" I heard him say as they stormed off back to their normal table. I shouted at phoenix "Come over after school! You know where I live! I can continue helping you!!" he just nodded and sat with Leo.
"What a jerk!!" I exclaimed to Alya.
"Phoenix was happy here doing his work here!" Alya commented just as angry as I was.
"I know! He is horrible!" I argued as I rolled my eyes. "Want to go somewhere else?" I asked.
"Let's skip the last period and go back to your house. We can bake some brownies before Phoenix comes round later." Alya replied standing up and already walking towards my car. "Okay!" I say running after her.
When we got back to my house we went straight into the kitchen and got out all of the ingredients. "What type of chocolate do you think?" I asked.
"Milk chocolate" Alya replied as she looked in my fridge for something to eat.
"Great!" I replied and reached for the chocolate from the fridge. "We need to leave the butter to melt a bit, want to start watching a movie or something while we wait. We could continue to watch Love Island?"
"Yeah sure," Alya replied and we walked into the living room. Just as I was setting up Love Island, "I saw the way you looked at phoenix earlier, you like him don't you?"  Alya questioned, with a slight tinge of jealousy in her voice.
"No, he is just a friend. I don't like anyone like that." I answered.
"Whatever you say," Alya replied with a smirk and we continued to watch Love Island. I heard her sigh, she seemed pleased that I didn't like him.
"I don't!" I stammered quickly. "I am just doing this to help him with his grades!"
I got up to go and start baking "You coming?" I asked
"Yeah! Of course." Alya said as I heard her pause the TV and walk over to help me start mixing. "Music?" I asked,
"Yeah!" She exclaimed as she connected to Bluetooth and we started singing and dancing round to Die Young "I love this song!" I exclaimed and put the first batch in the oven. I checked the time, "Phoenix is going to be here soon!" I exclaimed as the doorbell went and I walked over to answer. "Welcome! Come on in! We were just baking brownies! Alya Phoenix is here!" I called out then added to Phoenix. "Come on, let's sit down?"
"Okay." He said as I led him to sit at the kitchen island.
"Let's get started." I began "You want to finish the baking Alya?" I continued while getting out the worksheets again and going over the activities.
"Yeah sure," Alya replies, taking the cooked batch of brownies out of the oven and replacing it with the next batch.
"I'm sorry about Leo." Phoenix quietly spoke after a long period of silence. I gave him a small smile and continued looking over the sheets.
"I know he doesn't hang around with you and hates you because of Capella but I didn't think he would stop me from getting tutored by you. His and Capella's relationship is shit now anyway." Phoenix spoke angrily.
"What do you mean their relationship is shit now?" Alya spoke before I had a chance to.
"They argue a lot and don't seem that close anymore. I hope they break up soon." The words Phoenix spoke surprised me. Maybe he didn't like Leo and Capella as much as I thought." Do you know why they aren't that close anymore and are arguing a lot?" I ask out of curiosity.
"No idea," Phoenix responded, sounding pissed off talking about Leo and Capella's relationship.
"Why don't we continue with this French work and eat some brownies?" I suggested happily, not wanting to piss Phoenix off anymore.
"Yeah. These brownies smell amazing by the way." He smiled towards Alya but it wasn't the same sort of smile he gave me, it was a different kind of smile. A loving smile
