My Shooting Star

Chapter 7

Astra's POV

As I walked the lengthy corridor, some people arguing caught my attention. It was Leo and Capella again. They have been arguing a lot lately. Unable to hear what they were arguing about, I continued to my biology lesson.
When I got to my biology class, I tried to work on the diagram of plant cells but all I could think about was Leo and Capella. What were they arguing about this time?  Phoenix was definitely right when he said that they had been arguing alot more.

After the longest biology lesson of my life, the bell finally rang signalling it was break and I started to make my way to the dining room - where I meet Alya everyday.
Once I reached the dining room, Alya was sitting in our usual spot with Phoenix next to her. I focused on my work and eating my lunch as Alya and Phoenix laughed and smiled together. At the end of lunch I walked down the corridor and bumped into Leo, he was crying.
"Look where you're going." He muttered out. Huh.. no mean words. No calling me a bitch? "Are you okay?" I asked genuinely concerned.
"No. Capella cheated on me. We broke up. I have destroyed all of my friendships. I'm alone and I don't know why I'm telling you this as I don't think you would really care." He said and then stormed out of the hall and into the male bathrooms. He knows I can't follow him there. I sigh and walk over to my next lesson. Alya was already there and sat on our row, she looked at me concerned. "You okay Astra?" She asked and I just nodded. I can't tell her how confused I am. Leo just came to me for something and isn't calling me mean words..? I think I like Alya.  But I can't she is my literal best friend. Leo then came storming in and sat in his seat. Capella was just behind him. She walked over to me with her glass of water in her hand. The next thing I know I am drenched. "Whoops, I must have tripped." She says while walking back to her table of friends laughing. Leo glares at her, walks up and throws me his varsity. "Here. I am so sorry for her, I realise how much of a bitch she is." He looks sorry so I smile and say. "It's okay!" I put the varsity on and try to dry off a bit. "Why don't we just skip the last lesson? We can go to Astra's house so she can change. I also heard there was a fair at the park today if we wanted to go there?" Alya suggested
"Yeah! Sure!" Phoenix and I replied and Leo just shrugged and smiled. "Right, let's go then," Alya replied and we all went to my house. I went upstairs and got dressed in a sunflower cami dress. And some white wedges and put a sunflower clip in my hair then walked downstairs. "Let's go!" I called and went back out to the car. Everyone followed behind me and we went to the fair. "What ride first?" Alya asked while taking a look at the rides around us, The waltzer, a Ferris wheel, The dodgems, The helter-skelter and The carousel. "The Carousel" I exclaimed, smiling and pointing towards the carriage "There seems to be only 2 people per carriage" That's perfect, Leo and Astra in one and me and Phoenix in the other." Alya decided and took Phoenix's hand. We all walked over and took our seats in separate carriages. "How are you doing?" I ask him curiously. He just shrugged. I felt so bad for him. He loved her and got cheated on!
My mind started to wonder, maybe this will be a new leaf for us. We can be friends again. Then I started to go red as I started to think about Alya and what I had figured out today.
"Astra?" Leo asked me and it snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Oh! Sorry I was just zoned out" I said smiling.
"What were you thinking about?" He asked
"Us?" I sighed.
"What about us?" He asked
"Just how well we will be friends again. That's all!" I said he just nodded and leaned back. "We can be friends if you want" he says shrugging
