【︎ Looking Out For You - Joy Again 】︎
◁◁ 〡︎〡︎ ▷▷You would think after a couple of weeks of hanging out with Sal, Ash, and Larry I'd be used to weird comments or questions. But when I was once again in Ash's house, laying on my back, hanging upside down with Ash sitting next to me, the last thing I expected was for Sal to ask, "Do you believe in ghosts by chance, Y/n?"
"What?" I chuckled sitting up so I could face him. Ash rolled her eyes.
"Oh leave the poor girl alone, Sal!" She complained taking a sip of her sprite.
"I'm being serious!" Sal defended himself. He looked at me. "Come on, answer honestly. Do you believe in ghosts?"
I shrugged. I never really thought about it. I guess I always believed there was some sort of after life but I didn't really think much about it. "I guess..." I mumbled, going back to hanging upside down. Meanwhile Ash rolled her eyes again with a laugh.
"Not you too..." she giggled. I looked confused as she carried on, "Larry and Sal are obsessed with that paranormal crap."
"Oh whatever. I don't want to hear it from you, little miss afraid of elevators." Sal retorted. He was very clearly smiling as he crossed his arms.
"You know damn well that it isn't all elevators, it's just the one in Addison Apartments is..."
"Haunted?"
"No! Old and definitely needs some repairs."
"Whatever you say Ash." He teased, letting out a low chuckle as he got up to go to the kitchen.
"Excuse me for not wanting to be killed by an old elevator in some crusty apartment complex!" She called after him. She let out a huff as she went back to sipping her sprite while leaning into the couch.
We were silent for a bit but I didn't mind. The two were clearly joking around but sometimes Ash would get super heated when being teased like that with nothing to really say in her defense. Eventually Sal came back with two sprites, placing one on the coffee table near me.
"I figured you'd want one eventually." He struggled to pop open his can of sprite to which I sat up and held out my hand.
"You need help?" I asked, feeling Ash start to become interested in what we were doing.
After another minute of his struggle to get the tab to cooperate he eventually handed me his pop, looking at the ground.
It wasn't until I managed to open the pop with ease that Ash looked at Sal. "You can't open a soda?" She questioned, letting out a small giggle.
"Shut up." He lifted his mask slightly to take a sip of his drink before putting his mask back down.

Eventually Larry came over too and this time brought a special treat.
"What do you mean you brought weed into my house?" Ash asked.
"I mean," he pulled out a small baggie. "I brought weed into your house. I don't see why that's so hard to understand." He then turned to me. "Do you smoke at all Y/n?"
I placed my empty sprite can down and shrugged. "Eh, no not really. I think I've done it like once." I replied.
Ash nodded as she took a sip of her pop. "Damn, you're missing out." She chuckled.
Larry looked over at Sal. "And what about you dude? You gonna be fun tonight or what?"
Sal let out a small laugh, as he playfully elbowed Larry. "Yeah yeah, whatever."
