◁◁ 〡︎〡︎ ▷▷The next hour was full of quiet conversation, cuddles, and watching videos on Sal's phone. It wasn't until we both couldn't think of anything else to watch that Sal even mentioned the idea of leaving. We went downstairs to head out to the front yard when we were stopped by Larry who was clearly a little drunk.
"Dude! I've been looking for you everywhereee!" Larry complained with a weird dopey smile on his face.
"Sorry, we went upstairs. Y/n was getting overwhelmed. We were thinking of heading back to Ash's place early." Sal explained. Larry nodded, somewhat understanding.
"Yeah, yeah that's fine. I'll see you guys there. If I see Ash I'll tell her you guys left." I let out a sigh of relief after hearing Larry say that. I guess I was still worried about ruining the night. But as we said goodbye to Larry and he went to look for Ash, I felt better. I didn't want him to feel the need to leave with us for a number of reasons.
As we sat in the front yard, waiting for the Uber. I watched as some people around as smoke and drank. I leaned against Sal, feeling his arm wrap around my back and gently hold my arm. Maybe it was just the fact I was at a loud party or in Sal's arms but I was tired. I knew it wasn't enough to go to sleep or even want to. But socially, I was exhausted.
From getting into the Uber to entering Ash's house, I didn't really feel the urge to talk. I sat down on Ash's couch as Sal made his way to the kitchen. He came back with two bottles of water. He sat next to me and handed one to me, before resting his hand on my leg.
"You alright?" He asked. I let out a quiet laugh.
"You've been checking up on me a lot tonight."
"You've just seemed off, that's all."
I was quiet for a bit. He wasn't wrong. Parties aren't my thing. They made me more anxious than really anything. And tonight's party? That was hell.
"Yeah...I'm alright I guess." I replied, finally taking a sip of water. He nodded and placed his water on the coffee table. He ran his fingers through my hair as I leaned into him.
"You sure?"
"Yes, Sal." I chuckled. He nodded once more. We decide to put on a show on Ash's tv but it wasn't like I was really paying attention. I was too focused on how wonderful it felt to be so close to Sal. The way he messed with my hair mindlessly while watching the tv. It felt wonderful. I was in love with this feeling.
After a bit, I noticed the tattoo on his wrist again. I gently took his arm in my hands as I looked at it.
"You have a tattoo?" I asked. He nodded and adjusted to better show me.
"I actually have a couple." He mentioned. I examined the tattoo and my eyes furrowed in confusion.
"An eye?" I asked.
"An evil eye, yes. More specifically, this one means 'see no evil'." He explained. Listening to him talk about it made me smile. I looked up at him.
"What about you other tattoos?" I asked. He turned around so his back faced me. He lifted up his shirt and there I saw a tattoo of a blue butterfly by a lavender flower by his shoulder. After a few seconds, he put his shirt back down and faced me.
