Maybe wishes do come true because ever since that night at the pond, me and Sal have been that close. We have our days, no one is perfect. But despite that, Sal has been there showing he cares, even on his worst days.
We're closer than I thought we would be. I still think about when I first met him. Being in a crowded party, alone with him, joking to make an uncomfortable situation better. Sometimes life still feels like that. Like I'm being suffocated by a crowd of people. But I always have him to make those jokes that make space in the world. And you can thank whoever and whatever you want for it. Luck, fate, connection, being soulmates.
But personally, I thank two shooting stars.
