The car ride back to Miami was uneventful, to say the least. It was silent except for the sound of the radio and an occasional conversation here and there. Once they arrived at the police station, all four of them got out of the car. Jessica was happy to be able to stretch her legs, they were beginning to grow sore from being cooped up in the car for a long period of time. Bilkins was the first one inside. Brian held the door open for Jessica and waited for Roman."Thanks," Jessica said to the blonde with a friendly smile as she walked passed him. Brian smiled back. He watched her walk away, his eyes traveling down to her butt. He absentmindedly raised an eyebrow, liking what he was seeing. When Brian finally snapped back to reality, he realized that Roman had yet to walk by. He looked over at his friend, who was just standing near the car, an unsure look on his face.
"Wait, hold up," Brian said to the two agents, causing them to stop in their tracks. Brian walked over to Roman. "Hey, bro. What's going on?"
"I don't know if I should be trustin' you, man," Roman replied, shaking his head slightly. Those uneasy feelings he was experiencing at the derby were resurfacing.
"Just think of it this way; it's an opportunity for a fresh start. Let's do this, alright?" Brian said in an encouraging tone. He knew that they both needed this.
"I wouldn't need a fresh start if it wasn't for you," Roman spat, narrowing his eyes at the blonde standing in front of him. Brian refrained from rolling his eyes. Since neither of the boys had come inside, Jessica and Bilkins began watching the two from the door.
"Man, you've been using that since the day you got busted," Brian said, shaking his head. "Just chill out and let's do this!" Brian added, not wanting to argue about this anymore.
"I don't need to chill out!" Roman snapped, beginning to grow angry again. Jessica sighed as she watched.
"Do they ever stop fighting?" Jessica asked Bilkins, crossing her arms across her chest. She was trying to remember her college days to see if she could remember a time that she and her roommate were ever this dramatic.
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the answer is no," Bilkins replied sarcastically, shaking his head. They were both growing impatient with the drama.
"Yes you do. And you need to stop blaming me for your every mistake. And Roman Pearce needs to start taking responsibilities for his actions," Brian ranted, getting in Roman's face. He was tired of Roman blaming him for something that wasn't his fault. They can only have the same conversation so many times.
