Riley and Luna walked into Diagon Alley. Luna's father had dropped them off, giving them money to stay at the Leaky Cauldron. After an odd summer with the Lovegoods, Riley was ready for a bit of change. She had received her money from Hogwarts to buy school supplies, as they gave for those who couldn't afford, and Mr. Lovegood had even given her a bit of money, to spend on a birthday gift. She barely made it into that school year, as her birthday was on 21st of August, and each school year started on September 1st.
There weren't many people on the street, as Riley had seen a poster with the face of Sirius Black and was told about him by Luna. A man who could do that would surely be such a monster, no? Riley definitely thought so.
After checking in, they finished with their shopping, and began to find a sunny spot to do their homework. Luna said that Florean Fortescue, owner of an ice cream shop that gave the best sundays, was a friend of her dads, ever since he had wrote an article on how amazing Florean's ice cream was in the Quibbler. It had apparently been a starting favour, that brung in the shop's first customers. As repayment, Florean offered free ice cream for the Lovegoods for life. She also mentioned that Florean was an expert on history, so it was set.
So, after settling down on a sunny table, and receiving their Large Triple Chocolate Brownie Sundays with Chocolate Sauce, Caramel, Chocolate Sprinkles and Fudge Bites (Stop, AJ, you're getting me hungry), they began doing their homework.
Then, on their third Sunday, a familiar person asked to join them.
"Hello, Harry. Of course." Luna said, and Harry pulled up a chair to join them. Harry would also get free ice cream and history help, but that was expected. Luna had told Riley about what he did. ('Hello Harry' is my personal favourite Luna quote. Actually, change that, my favourite Harry Potter quote in general.)

After many nights talking with Luna on what to spend the money she got from Luna's father, Riley finally decided what she wanted to get.
Luna and Riley were walking into the Magical Menagerie, three days before her birthday, money in hand. They were both having a chocolate frog, from the 12-pack Harry got Riley, both for her birthday and helping him the year before, and even though she was over that, she wasn't one to say no to chocolate.
There were many animals lining the walls but Riley met eye contact of the one she wanted almost immediately.
The lady spoke to her, "What will it be my dear?"
All the animals were screeching, scratching their cages, as if begging Riley to pick them.
She pointed to the animal.
"Hm, old Arlo? He's been here for a year, quite strange for a cat like him. A mixed breed between a Korat and an angel winged cat. Five years in age. I don't think you'll have any problems with him. Can do jobs like delivering mail, and can grow to wrap its wings around its owner in times of danger, as well as carry the owner in normal form, and can be ridden when grown. But Arlo is a mix breed, so we had him tested, and he can grow and be ridden, and deliver mail, but nothing else. If he were a mix between the rarer demon winged cat, he would have kept all his powers. If he accepts you, then be my guest. "
She took him out of his cage, and onto the counter. When they met eye contact, Riley felt a burning feeling on her cheek, just underneath her left eye. Her hand rushed to the spot.
When it stopped, and Riley lowered her hand, the lady at the counter said, "Well, well, young witch. You have just been accepted by an angel winged cat. Have a look at your mark."
She hands Riley a mirror, and Riley sees that she has a black mark that could pass for a birthmark, in the shape of a radioactive symbol, similar to Arlo's pupils. He purred quietly and contently.
"Th-thank you. Here is the money." Riley said, taking out the money, and putting it on the counter, before taking Arlo in her arms, calming him into making his pure, white, angel wings disappear.
She and Luna walked out, with Luna fawning over Arlo, saying that she would want to make a portrait of them both. (Remember the portraits in the last book?)
