Paris' POV.
"Shit. Should I answer it?" Shane cursed as his phone continues to light up. After his initial shock and confusion came the anxiety. We rode the elevator once again to go to their room and the phone hasn't stopped ringing since then.
"Yes."
"No!"
Jade and I both said at the same time. I, agreeing while she obviously denied. We both glared at each other.
The phone suddenly stopped as the elevator doors opened to our floor. I quickly texted Ian and he was on his way from the gym. We were all freaking out because, well technically, Shane ran away. And of course, he didn't tell his parents. His parents are kind people but they get a bit strict with the girls Shane is dating because they want someone who is beneficial to their company. So usually, they pick the girls themselves.
And most often than not, Shane doesn't like them.
That's the main objective of this 'trip' afterall. To find someone who Shane will love and will love him back.
So far, it's not working. Maybe Ian is right; you don't find love, it finds you.
We reached the room Shane and Jade share to find Charlie and Margot already there.
"What is it?" Margot asked worriedly.
"His mom called." Jade explained while getting a bag of chips on the table.
"Why?"
Before Charlie could even finish his sentence, the phone rang again and with the pale face Shane is making, we're guessing it's his mother yet again. The door opened and Ian came in.
"I think you should answer it." He pointed to the phone.
Shane dramatically took a deep breath and pressed something on his phone. He then widened his eyes as if just realising what he did and threw the phone to Ian.
"You answer it." He hissed.
"Is it my mom?" Ian retorted.
"Just answer the goddamn phone." Shane said with wide eyes.
Ian cautiously placed the phone on his ear. "Hello? Mrs. Martin, good evening."
"What the hell is he doing?" Jade snickered beside me. "He's answering his best friend's phone not a receptionist's phone at a five-star restaurant."
I smiled a little. "Shut up will you?"
We all held our breaths as we strained to listen to what Shane's mother is saying. She shouted at the other end of the phone and didn't give us a hard time listening in on the conversation. Ian put the phone on speaker mode to make it easier.
"Where the hell is he, Ian? Do you know how much money he spent on his account? He ditched an important date with our business partner's daughter! Now Mr. Ven thinks we are unprofessional." His mom blabbered on.
"Now, now, Mrs. Martin, could we please talk in a calm manner?" Ian responded and looked at us for help. Knowing us, we wouldn't give a useful answer.
"Calm manner? Calm?! How the hell would I calm down?" Mrs. Martin shouted. "Where is my son, Ian? He packed almost half of his clothes. Half! Can you believe that?"
"Uhm, Mrs. Martin -"
"That was a very important business partner he just ditched. Mr. Ven has almost thirty percent shares of our company! Thirty, you hear me?" She continued.
