Paris Mitchell's POV.
Shane sat down on the grass beside me and said "They'll be done in a few minutes." I didn't bother asking what was wrong with the van since I don't really know much about engines so I just nodded.
"You tired?" He asked me. My heart was hammering in my chest because, well let's be honest here, if your crush was being concerned about you, wouldn't your heart do the same? We've been friends since God knows how long and I still have butterflies in my stomach when he talks to me. Great.
"What, are you going to lie down on my lap too?" I joked remembering the same line Ian used to sleep on my lap, which is what he is still currently doing.
"Uhm what?" He asked. Oh right. He wasn't there. Way to go, Paris.
"Nothing. I mean, no. Not tired." I coughed awkwardly. "So where are we really going?"
Shane sighed. "Honestly?" He looked at me. I wanted to reply with a No, Shane. I want you to lie. But I restrained myself and gave him a small nod.
"I don't know." He mumbled, looking down. "I just want to be far away from the pressure and stress my parents are giving me but at the same time, I want to be close from where we came from."
"You don't make sense, Shane." I answered, playing with Ian's hair trying to get rid of the awkward feeling. Here I am, being a freaking therapist to my crush while another boy sleeps on my lap.
"I appreciate your efforts in coming with me and I want to be sympathetic to you guys." He shrugged and I nodded. So are we going to kiss under the sunset now? I thought and mentally slapped myself. Shane is being sentimental here and that's what you're thinking about?
"Finally! Let's go." Jade cried and placed her headphones back on her head as she climbed in the car.
"It's done fellas. I already payed so let's get moving." Charlie said and got in the car after Margot.
Shane stood up and brushed off his pants. "Let's go. I'm hungry." He said offering me a hand.
I declined the offer — even though I obviously wanted to hold his hand — and pointed at Ian. "I still need to wake up this guy."
He shrugged before getting in the car. "We'll be waiting."
I stared after him dreamily and slapped Ian's so called abs. "What do you want?" He groaned.
"Wake up. The car's fixed already." I half-yelled as he slowly opened his eyes.
"What got your panties in a twist?" He said, stretching while sitting up.
I stood up. "Shane offered me a hand but you were on my lap so I had to decline."
He rolled his eyes. "You're whipped."
"Shut up so we can eat." I said heading to the car.
"What? You got tired staring at my luscious lips and playing with my oh so soft hair?" He teased after me.
My face flushed. He's asleep! How could he know? About the hair part I mean. Not the lips. I swear I was not looking at his lips. I swear.
"Just get in the car." I called once I got in.
