The loud alarm clock had gone off, and they both jolted awake.
They had forgotten that they were in the same room, so waking up right next to each other was a huge shock. "Why are you basically on the floor?" Kaveh said while rubbing his eyes. "Have you seen the way you sleep?" Alhaitham asks Kaveh. Kaveh looks to see himself spread out, taking up most of the bed with Alhaitham in the tiniest corner.
They both get up and get ready to go to the kitchen. It took them a while to actually get ready. By the time they got there, Alhaitham's grandma was nowhere to be seen. "Jeda?" Alhaitham calls. He walked to the main hall. Her shoes were gone. "At least she knows how to lock the door." Alhaitham calls down the hall, completely directed at Kaveh. " 'Haitham!' Kaveh calls from the dining room area. Alhaitham walks down the hall towards Kaveh. There was a note next to a bottle of wine. Alhaitham picked up the note. "Thanks for the stay, I wished to stay longer, but I needed to get home to take care of some stuff." Alhaitham read out loud. Kaveh picked up the bottle. "Woah! This is the good stuff! All the way from Mondstat!" Kaveh exclaimed. He put down the bottle since they had to go out. He walked to the front door with Alhaitham.
"Lock the door behind you!" Alhaitham said, trying to drill the thought into Kaveh's head. Kaveh immediately gave himself a pat-down, trying to find his keys. Alhaitham had his keys at the front and threw them towards Kaveh, who caught them and locked the door as they left to go run errands. Their first stop was the café to grab a coffee to fuel them through their long day of errands. They went around Sumeru picking up items so they wouldn't have to go do more errands for a while. By the time they were done, they had basically been around all of Sumeru city. Eventually, they got back home and put everything away. They had been out for so long that it was already late afternoon. Kaveh grabbed the bottle of wine and walked up to Alhaitham.
"Can we??" Kaveh asked while Kaveh got extremely close to Alhaitham with a pleading look in his eye. "Yeah, I guess." Alhaitham said as he went to grab the glasses. Kaveh sat down at the table. He grabbed some of his current projects to work on as they had their drinks.
Alhaitham got to the table and sat next to Kaveh. He poured the drinks as Kaveh began working away at his project designs. Alhaitham had about 2 drinks before he decided to stop. He didn't want to get drunk. Even though they didn't have to drive anywhere, he didn't want to be drunk in front of anyone. Especially not Kaveh. But Kaveh, on the other hand, was an estimated 4 drinks in and was starting to act a bit tipsy. Alhaitham could tell because he was starting to talk a lot more than usual and was starting to look a little dazed. Kaveh poured another drink right before Alhaitham pulled it out of his hands to put it away. Kaveh let out a disappointed noise. "You don't get any more. You can barely talk properly, yet you won't shut up." Alhaitham said as he sat back beside Kaveh. "T-that's not true~" Kaveh stuttered. Alhaitham raised an eyebrow as Kaveh drunkenly laughed.
Kaveh's head fell onto Alhaitham's lap, so he was just laying there. He laughed again. "It's c- comfy~" he said as he adjusted his position on Alhaitham's lap. He let Kaveh stay like that because he didn't want him moving around so much that he would end up sick. Kaveh turned his head to face right up at Alhaitham. "Y-you're so pretty~" Kaveh mumbled. Alhaitham was caught off guard by that statement and looked back down at Kaveh. "really?" Alhaitham asked. "Y- yeah~" Kaveh said. Alhaitham chuckled. Mostly because Kaveh's face was flushed a bright pink. Most likely due to all the alcohol in his system.
Alhaitham gently lifted up Kaveh until he was sitting up. Alhaitham stood up and brought Kaveh's arm over his shoulder and brought him over to the couch. Alhaitham sat down, back against the armrest. He guided Kaveh in front of him and had him lying down, back against Alhaitham's chest. Kaveh got comfortable in the position and relaxed into Alhaitham. "I think I might l-like you~" Kaveh muttered. "A- actually, I know I like you. You're nice, pretty, and all the g-good stuff!" Kaveh said with a little smile. Alhaitham laughed at the drunk Kaveh's confession. At least he knew for sure now.
"I like you too, Kaveh." Alhaitham said back. He placed a small kiss on Kaveh's forehead, knowing that there would be no recollection of this tomorrow. Kaveh never remembers anything after being drunk like this. Kaveh looked up with the most shocked face known to man. "You like me too?!" Kaveh said with a shocked tone to go along with his expression. Alhaitham just smiled and giggled as he rubbed Kaveh's head.
They had just gotten comfortable when the front door swung open. It was already late evening, so it was weird having someone visit at this time. "I-it's mushroom guy!" Kaveh called out. Tighnari stopped in his tracks. "What?" he replied with a confused tone. Alhaitham was trying to signal that Kaveh was drunk. Tighnari had figured it out and explained that he was just dropping off some TCG cards (mostly to keep away from Cyno so he didn't have to play for a while). Once he hid the cards, he walked back towards the front, this time getting a good look at what was happening on the couch. He saw Kaveh and Alhaitham cuddling up to each other as Alhaitham gently stroked Kaveh's head. Kaveh was saying something. (A lot of things), but Tighnari couldn't make out what he was saying. So instead, Tighnari just stood there, jaw hanging open.
"I knew it!" Tighnari called out as he walked out the door.
Alhaitham laughed at Tighnari's reply to the situation and continued to stare at Kaveh lovingly.
They had been alone for a few minutes when Alhaitham realized that Kaveh had passed out. He decided to let Kaveh sleep. After all, he now knew the truth.
