Michael stopped abruptly.  
Luke gently slid down from his back.
"Jenny." Michael muttered. 
Luke peaked out from behind Michael taking in the girl. 
Jenny had long blonde hair and bangs. 
She wore tall white socks and pink pastel converse. 
Her jean miniskirt was paired with a fuzzy sweater, which Luke couldn't imagine kept her very warm. 
Basically, and even Luke took notice, she was almost the female version of him. 
Michael gently pulled Luke out from behind him. 
"Jenny, my fiancé, Luke", Michael introduced, "Luke, this is my friend, Jenny." 
"Michael he is so cute!" She exclaimed before turning to Luke, "It's so great to meet you!" 
"You too", Luke smiled politely, "How do you two know each other?" 
"Oh, we were each others beards in high school." Jenny explained with a laugh. 
Oh. 
Well Luke felt a little better about that. 
"How have you been?" She quizzed. 
"Oh, you know..." Michael started. 
The two fell into a friendly conversation. 
For a bit, Luke found himself awkwardly standing there listening. 
Eventually he slipped away from Michael and out of the isle. 
Luke looked around, his eyes landing on an adorable dog by the freezers. 
Before he could stop himself, he made his way towards the fluffy baby. 
"What a lovely dog you have", Luke started, like a kid in a candy store, "Do they allow pets here?"
"Not really, but the owners love me and it's a small town, no one seems to mind", The woman explained, "Besides he's a retired service dog, he's very well behaved."
"May I?" Luke asked, gesturing to pet the dog. 
The woman nodded and Luke crouched to the floor. 
He pet the dog and gave him scratches behind the ear. 
The dog licked Luke's face and he giggled. 
"He likes you." She muttered with a smile. 
The dog began licking Luke more and Luke fell onto his butt on the ground.
Michael appeared from the end of the isle looking for the boy. 
He smiled as his eyes landed upon Luke laughing and playing with a dog. 
Michael had never seen anything cuter.
He swore he'd get Luke a puppy someday.
