August 13, 20XX

It was like any other day at Yangdong village, where the old folks gathered around the grass field. The typical place to do some hard labor or chat with the other neighbors. Many elderly women sat in front of a convenience store, chatting about their daily dose of gossip, whereas their husbands were mowing the grass with their very own tractors.

"Hey, did you hear about the people moving into that mansion?"

"Yeah, about them stopping at Doctor Lee's clinic to ask directions at midnight, right?"

"I heard it was a young man."

Their other friend, who had been helping her husband with the flowers, was shouting over the dirty noise of the tractor. Black steam of the tractor's gas emitted from behind the vehicle, which only worsened the sound as the lady tried to speak once more.

"It was a truck, an expensive car and another car."

"Huh? Did you say tractor?"

While the villagers mind their own business and converse among themselves, a slim figure had walked right past them. The individual paid no attention to them as the sight of them only made her dislike them even more. Almost to the point that she hated them. Fortunately, for Wonyoung, they were too caught up with the news and hadn't noticed the girl nor the flowy yellow dress she was wearing for today.

News spread relatively quickly in a village consisting of less than 3000 residents, and when Wonyoung heard that the new family had already moved into the mansion she rushed over to see for herself. The pale 18-year-old wanted to look her very best if she wanted to make new friends and acquaintances, and nail her first impression on the newcomers.

"Those old folks will never understand... I'll finally be able to get my chance, my taste in a glamorous life if I befriend the new family. Although I wish [Y/N]nnie and Yujin unnie were here with me..."

Unfortunately, the girl had to make this trip alone. Yujin was forced to stay back and do extra studying because of her poor grades in math, whereas you remained by your uncle's side and helped attend patients. To put it simply, you just outright rejected her in front of everyone including your supportive uncle. Wonyoung was already used to your cold demeanor, but it still hurts because she genuinely likes you.

Hell, the school crush she had on you turned into a massive one. With time accumulating and all of you nearing the end of high school, she wanted to gift you a letter that conveyed her true feelings. However, today wasn't the day, but she had no clue when she'd even give you the letter she spent hours, and days, working on. She just didn't have the courage to do it just yet.

"I may not have the courage to confess my feelings, but that will all change once I befriend the new family! They'll surely understand and accept me unlike those pesky villagers."

From what the old ladies were saying, the new family consisted of six–one father and five daughters. They also had workers under their care, but so far they only heard of one male worker. Apparently, all of them exceeded the beauty standards, and they certainly had the riches. In Wonyoung's eyes, they were a perfect family and she wanted to join in. It isn't like her family now were bad-looking or poor, but she would much rather have been born in a family that's perfect like the Jung family.
