A flock of people have already gathered in the center of the gym by the time the coaches hurry off to do their own things. P.E., famously known as Physical Education, is like any other school elective except there was more freedom and privilege. Hell, they don't even check attendance and couldn't care less if a student skips class or not.
Students usually stick to the bleachers or get involved in some sports like basketball or soccer, though that always ends up as a public debate on how to split the gym in terms of playing space. Regardless of the commotion, many students remain in their seats; some of them are of wealth and status, all dressed to perfection in neat attire and the latest fashion trends from the city.
Those people compose the medium-sized crowd, but what really catches the school's eye is the elegantly-dressed quintet of interrelated sisters they approach. For people who are popular, though, they aren't dressed as...loudly as the others, and in their simplicity, the sisters stand out. They're, in particular, stunning enough to turn the heads of most people playing on the court, girls and guys alike with wandering eyes. But they don't seem to mind though; if anything, all of them are basking in the attention.
"Oh! Did you girls hear? Kim Dayoung, the same girl that tried to initiate a fight with Lee [Y/N], just died three days ago?"
"That's crazy but serves her right. I mean, she was totally hogging over all of you."
"Not to mention, she went against the Lee [Y/N]. That has to be a curse or something. It all started after their encounter, and now Dayoung is dead."
Although they act polite and respectful to their human neighbors, the sisters looked down on them for their lack of self-consciousness. Humans were so simple to please, yet so easy to manipulate because they made no choices at all. They'll latch onto anything if it means they've finally found something exciting and fresh to contribute with their boring lives.
None of the sisters paid a mind to them. Simply letting them chat their tongues off, while they run their eyes over the active court. When their chosen star player hadn't entered their line of sight, they began to grow curious about the sudden absence.
"Sorry to interrupt. But where is [Y/N]? She usually plays basketball with the others, right?"
Hyein broke in between their conversation. Her radiant smile is enough to get a fast response from one of the girls, jolly and delighted that the youngest sister was even paying attention to them.
"Oh, she's over there in the corner. Not sure why Lee [Y/N] isn't playing, but she seems to be reading something. I think she's reading some vampire horror story or something like that, I'm not too sure."
The rest of the school gossips laugh. For someone so cold and quiet, no one would expect you to like that kind of stuff. Perhaps even people such as yourself would have their own little twists in life. But something tells the sisters you weren't reading about vampires because of a mere interest.
