[Peat]

They have this saying, Jealousy is a green-eyed monster but for Peat, it was more like a familiar friend. He could recount every instance that he had felt that feeling over the years but most of the time he would just let it go or tries to forget it. He had agreed within himself that feeling jealous would bring him nowhere and he should just focus on himself and the people around him who genuinely cared for him.

"What the hell is wrong with your family?!" Noeul screeched on the phone. Currently, we are video calling and Boss was just busying himself with some work on his laptop but based on the smile on his lips he was listening to his boyfriend.

"What can I say, we are that dysfunctional" Peat said and tried to laugh it off so that he won't be worrying Nouel more than he should.

"As if you didn't cry all the way here." Boss chimed in, still busy with his laptop. Peat glared at his friend who tried to look like he didn't care.

"I swear to god, I don't want to be mean to your twin sister but I have been really feeling off with her since then," Noeul said and with the sass in his voice, he was actually remembering that one dinner event that they attended, Peat just threw an apologetic smile to his friend.

"She looks so innocent but she could be a cunning wolf under it," Noeul added, obviously making more believable points in his case and Peat won't even dare to fight back on it. Even though they were siblings, they were apart for most of their lives so it was better to assume that they were strangers with blood ties within them.

Peat can't help but wonder at the specific event that Noeul said. It was like a core memory for him at this point because at that event he realized how much he, his family, and Fort had drifted away from each other.

[A/N: this part is a little flashback thus the italic, so the next time there's a whole section that's in italic, its a flashback]

Ever since coming back to Thailand, which for Noeul was a very bad choice, they have been attending these social functions. Noeul explains to him that these were part of their duties as the children of these 'chaebols'. Noeul's Korean side just jumps in every time he gets irritated and it was really a sight to behold.

So now, Peat was stuck in a party that he was asked to come to since it was technically the party of his future in-laws but it was like he was there to pig out and be that one pretty boy in the corner of the party. Since he didn't take management-related courses at his current university he excluded himself with the stress of trying to understand their lingos and that also means he would be excluding himself in social events like this. Truthfully, he doesn't mind it at least one bit, normally he doesn't but just looking at the two people in front of him, he can't help but summon the green-eyed monster that was sleeping within him.

His twin sister, Praew, is also Fort's business partner and of course, how could we miss the fact they will be future in-laws when he and Fort get married? Peat is just trying to make sense that her sister being so close with Fort was normal, seeing them laugh at comments, makes perfect sense. Right? They were close, closer than Peat and Fort will ever be. It makes perfect sense that he was the fiance but he was on the sideline sipping champagne while her sister who is the one involved in the business is arm in arm with Fort.

He won't even bullshit his way into a circle that he will never feel safe, so there's literally him being bored in his wits when someone lightly tapped on his shoulder, and then one moment she was being hugged on his shoulder.
