[Peat]

The family dinner was something that Peat doesn't want to attend at all but since it was a guise under his and twin sister's birthday dinner, Peat wasn't allowed to skip this one, so his plan was to grit his teeth and leave the dinner as soon as possible.

Let's get this fucking over with.

Of course, the dinner won't start without the other party, the Sengngai's, when they arrived, Peat could have easily shrugged it off but the way his fiance was clad in an Italian suit that was customized to fit his physique. Peat could not keep his eyes away. Why does he need to look so damn good?

He could not help but notice the things that Fort was holding, it was the same chocolates and flowers but there was something new mixed with the gifts. Judging by the color of the paper bag it was probably from Tiffany & Co. Peat got excited at the thought of Fort giving him something different for this year.

"Happy Birthday Peat" Fort greeted him with a pretty smile plastered on his face while handing the regular Flowers and Chocolate gift but before Peat could ask about the paper that Fort was holding a gasp resonated at the dining area and followed with a very excited voice.

"Is that for me?!" Praew, Twin sister of Peat, said out loud and Fort nodded and gave the little paper bag to the twin sister, Peat looked at how his sister happily opened the paper bag and revealed a beautiful bracelet. An ugly feeling started to rise in his throat, Peat had to mentally reprimand himself. He should have not assumed and hoped for anything.

His hopes and excitement all crashed down as fast as he felt them building up.

Peat looked at his sister who was clearly enjoying the pretty bracelet that was given to her, he cannot help but compare the things that he got. A measly chocolate and flowers. So much for being the fiance, right?

The dinner was for better words, boring, and nothing new, Everyone conversed well, except for Peat. He sat there looking at everyone, never trying to insert himself into the conversation. When the conversation is just full of business talks.

Peat would have not minded sitting there, being bored out of his wits but when the conversation started to go to the direction of the engagement, his guts started to twist uneasy, this conversation will never go the way he will want, nor hear things he had never heard from both of the parties but this specific conversation didn't quite sit right with Peat.

"They are all going to turn 25 this year," Peat's mother started, and Peat didn't like the tone of his mother.

"Fort, son, have you thought about it?" Peat's mother added. Thought about what?

"Auntie, I'm so sorry but I've been busy with work and I haven't really had time to think about it," Fort answered not missing giving his business smile to Peat's mother.

Peat was so out of the loop with their conversation but he decided to act nonchalant and continue to listen to them.

"I mean wouldn't it make sense more if you get engaged to our sweet Praewt instead?" the words that came out of Peat's own mothers mouth made him feel numb like his blood was being drained away from him. Did he hear it right?

His head shoot up so fast that everyone looked his way. The awkward coughing of Fort's father and the business smile of his father kind of gave away the situation that they were in. I see.

Peat cleared his throat and slowly put down his utensils, not feeling the food anymore. He ever so politely and gracefully wiped his mouth with the table napkin and looked at the elders that were present at the table. He stood up, making everyone look at him.

"This seems to be a family conversation that I was not supposed to hear nor have any comments, so I will excuse myself as I'm feeling a little out of the weather." Peat smiled at them and carefully exited the dining area. With his shaky breath and shaky hands he opened the pinned conversation on his messaging app, the group message thread with his best friends.

He didn't even think twice to call the group and it didn't even take 3 rings for the two of them to pick up the call. A chorus of hellos filled his ears and it was like a key to the pandora's box, a stick of dynamite in the dam, Peat sobbed the moment he heard the voices of the people he trusted the most.

"I don't want to be here, please take me away from here." Peat sobbed on the phone and since Noeul was out of the country it automatically meant that Boss was going to be the one who will pick him up.

"Where are you?" Boss asked his voice quite serious and if Peat wasn't overly emotional he would have been scared out of his wits by the tone of Boss' voice.

"Thong Lor, Family's house," Peat replied and it seems like Noeul knew that Peat was somehow not in the right state of mind to give full instructions so he told his boyfriend that he will be sending the location pin for Peat's whereabouts. Peat was really thankful for his friends.

"Okay, I'm near. Give me 10 minutes tops. I'll pick you up. Stay where I can easily see you okay?" Peat nodded even though the person on the other line can't see it.

"O-okay"

He walked out of the house, waiting for his friend right in front of the big gate, looking in every direction to look for his friend's car. When a very familiar Van came into sight, he breathe out a relieved sigh. Peat just really wants to get away from this place as soon as possible.

When the black van stopped right in front of him immediately, a man with a black face mask stepped out and gathered Peat in his arms, giving him a very comforting hug. Peat again for the second time cried but this time at least he was with someone he felt safe.

"Take me away from this place, Please," Peat begged and his friend didn't have to be told twice and got Peat to go inside the Van while still hugging his shoulder.

[Fort]

"This seems to be a family conversation that I was not supposed to hear nor have any comments, so I will excuse myself as I'm feeling a little out of the weather," Peat said all of a sudden. Fort didn't miss how Peat's voice turned cold and his eyes were void of any type of emotions. His heart dropped.

This was a Peat that he had never seen nor heard before.

Peat was so fast to be on his feet that it took everyone on the table shocked and it caused a little panic in Fort's mind but one thing was clear in his very hectic and hazy mind. Run after him. Run.

But before he left the dining table, he looked at the elders and his polite facade going off.

"Peat will always be my fiance, whether it was a 7-year-old conversation or any of the engagement talks, Peat will always be my choice. Best believe I will do everything to make sure it will stay the same." Fort said with finality and made sure that everyone got his point.

When he navigated his way, Fort was half annoyed and mad at the fact that the house was like a damn maze when he saw a silhouette that could possibly belong to his fiance he walked in its direction, steps being larger as he gets nearer but stopped at his track when a black van stopped in front of him, Fort watched again, like a Deja Vu. He watched another man take Peat in his arms, obviously comforting him.

A storm of feeling rummaged through his heart and mind. Peat was literally and figuratively being stolen away from him and that didn't sit very right with him.

Fort needs to change things up in his plan and make sure that Peat won't be thinking of leaving him for any person or for any reason at all.

Even with the most meticulous plan, cracks and crevices will appear, especially if the other half of your plan was kept in the dark for a very long time. Fort can only blame himself for this issue.
