"HEY," I SAID AS I walked over to Mikey sitting on the ground.
"What do you want?" Mikey asked as he dried his tears from his face.
"Can I sit?" I asked as Mikey nodded his head and I sat down beside Mikey on hard concrete where we both looked up at the stars.
"Were you worried?" I asked Mikey as he shook his head while sniffling.
"Haha, my brothers exactly like you." I said smiling at Mikey.
"Brother?" Mikey asked in confusion while I nodded my head.
"Just a year younger than me. Yutā's his name." I said to Mikey as he looked at me in confusion.
"Yutā?" Mikey asked as I nodded my head.
"He was a wimp sure, but he's still my baby brother. So I've to take care of him." I said to Mikey as he nodded his head.
"Right..." Mikey said as he fell quiet.
"He would've loved you. I got this tattoo for him too." I said as I revealed a tattoo on forearm which was a tattoo of a butterfly with a broken wing.
"What does it mean?" Mikey asked me in confusion.
"Well, one day when we were 7 and 8, Yutā brought home a butterfly with a broken wing. He was so sad that he asked me to fix it. I couldn't do anything so I just took it off him and brought it into the kitchen where I put it in a box of tissue and buried it in the garden. Yutā still thinks that the butterfly is off in the world somewhere. So that's why I got it. Because, I know one day... I'll find him again." I said to Mikey as he looked at me.
"So, you still haven't found your brother?" Mikey asked as I shook my head.
"I just want to tell him I'm sorry." I said to Mikey as he smiled at me.
"That's nice that you're still looking for him after all these years." Mikey said as I nodded my head.
Hearing a loud bang, I looked up into the sky as the fireworks from the festival went off.
"Look!" I said pointing into the sky as the colours lit up the night sky.
"They're so beautiful!" I said as I stared up at them in awe.
Not noticing the hand that crossed over mine, I kept staring into the sky as Mikey placed his hand over mine and squeezed it tightly.
"They really are, aren't they?" Mikey ask as he looked at me in amusement.
"What?" I asked him while looking him in the eyes.
"Just... enjoying the fireworks." Mikey said as he quickly looked away from me and focused his attention on the fireworks again.
Giggling slightly at his actions, I continued to look up at the fireworks as I closed my eyes and made a wish.
