BLOG #25: Are Writers... Killers?

Yes, writers are certainly murderers. They can murder you in an instant with their pens, quills, computers, and inventive imaginations, emotionally, physically, and most importantly cognitively.

Charlotte once murdered a young writer— throwing all of her ambitions away, and now, it seems that the table had turned. I hadn't heard anything from her yet. It's been months, and I'm curious how she's doing. I miss using my flawless words and compelling voice to bring out her weaknesses.

However, this will be my last blog. Thank you for the support. Goodbye.

CHARLOTTE

"HOW is she?" I immediately asked him as he entered my room. It's been a month since I tried to end everything, but yet, I failed.

My fame caused my downfall. My own passion turned into a nightmare. Hindi ko akalaing dahil lang sa pagmamahal ko sa pagsusulat, mapupunta sa panganib ang buhay ko.

"She's busy working on your novel. Nagustuhan niya ang binenta mo," he said as he placed a basket of fruits on the table near my bed.

"Good to know," I said.

"I'm just curious. Kilala mo naman kung sino si Sunny, bakit hinayaan mo lang gawin niya ang lahat ng ito sayo ngayon?" He asked which made me chuckle.

"I'm one of the reasons why she's also suffering L-let's... Let's understand her na lang. All her life, kinukumpara siya lagi sa akin. I witnessed her struggle under the weight of her family's expectations and pressures. If ruining me would make her happy, then let her be. Besides, I love her. I don't want to discount her feelings as I used to do when we were younger," I explained my side to him.

Hindi ko na kayang harapin pa ang mundo dahil sa ginawa ni Sunny— ni Aelia. Pero kung doon siya makakahinga nang maluwag after all these years, then iintindihin ko na lang, kahit ikasira ko pa ito.

"All right, I'll just keep my mouth shut," he answered which made me smile.

"Thank you, Gael."

AELIA

[Three Years After]

"LET us all welcome, Miss Aelia Rosenheim!" The host said making the whole crowd wild as I took a step towards the stage.

I couldn't believe that after three years, I'm now standing at the same spot where Charlotte used to stand.

I'm now a successful published author and my first ever novel was my big shot! And of course, no one knows the secret behind it except for Gael, my new manager.

Gael's company expanded as my novel became a local hit. I was under his company that's why nadamay siya nang umusbong ang career ko. How ironic that my high school-nemesis turns out to be my business partner?

"Can I get an autograph po ba, miss?"

My heart skipped a beat the moment I heard his voice. Kenzo.

It's been a year since he confessed that he likes me since SHS and now, he's already courting me.

My life's been great since the day I bought 'that' novel. My parents stopped pressuring me as I regained my spotlight.

Well, as per Charlotte, wala na akong balita sa kaniya. She even stopped writing after attempting to end her life years ago. I pity her.

Even though we're not in good terms, I hope that she's at peace.

Especially that I already deleted the blog I made just for her.

A smirk suddenly plastered on my face.

Can writers really kill using their quill? Well, yes, I just did.

I was about to sign Kenzo's copy of my book when suddenly, my phone rang. A notification appeared making me crease my forehead.

@Luna posted a tweet.

I know your secret, Aelia Rosenheim.

THE END.
