"With highest honor, Aelia Roseinheim."
A smile plastered on my face as I marched towards the stage to get my Moving-Up Certificate.
People clapped with joy as camera flashes almost blinded my sight. Grabe! This is literally my moment.
Today is my last day being a Junior High School student.
I finished 10th Grade as the student with the highest general average. Who would have thought that it is indeed possible to attain a 99 GWA?
Well... I just proved that it's not impossible.
"Congratulations my baby!" Her eyes proves that she's proud with what I've achieved, ganoon din si daddy.
"This calls for a grand celebration," my father said as he patted my head. I smiled and nodded as a response.
After the ceremony, my parents decided to have lunch at a fancy restaurant. Daddy invited half of his clan as mommy made a reservation along the travel.
"Anak, wala ka bang papupuntahing kaibigan?" Mommy asked while facing her phone.
"Wala po," I answered uninterested.
"Are you sure? You can invite your whole class! We won't mind." mommy said but I just gave her a small smile.
My mom's actions made me chuckle. If only I had friends, hindi na niya ako kailangan pang sabihan na mang-imbita sa mga ganitong salu-salo.
Ever since childhood, I have never gained friends. My aura intimidates people; that's why no one bothers to befriend me. Also, I don't want to meddle with them. Having friends means having responsibilities; they are just distractions from my studies. Also, friends may stab your back, and I don't want it to happen to me. I'm content having only myself; I don't need more drama in my life.
Isa pa, everyone at my school is my competitors. They are a threat in snatching away my title and achievements, so why would I bother to be friends with them? Right?
"We're here. Mag-park lang ako."
My thoughts got disrupted when my father suddenly talked. Nandito na pala kami.
I glanced at my parents the moment I stepped out of the car. They're smiling from ear to ear while talking about what they will order for our lunch. They also mentioned boasting my latest achievement to our guests, which made me giggle.
They seem so happy with what I've got. The younger me was right; my success is their happiness.
I must strive for the best... Always.

"Miss Rosenheim! Pakopya math, please?" My eyes rolled when I heard one of my classmates asked for my General Mathematics assignment for the ninth time.
One of them whispered. I continued ignoring them while focusing on the novel I am reading.
Besides, what if kaka-kopya nila sa akin, tumaas tuloy grades nila at malamangan ako?
It's better to be selfish than to be kind and dumb enough to give away everything to other people until they abuse it. Pare-pareho lang naman kaming mga estudiyante rito, they must deal with the requirements if they want to graduate.
I smirked when the bell rang. Alas!
I even saw some of them glared at me— hindi ko kasi pinakopya.
The class started and only few of us have submitted our homework.
I just gave her a teasing smile before setting my gaze on the board. Hindi ko na siya pinansin pa.
Call me an arrogant or conceited b*tch, I still won't let them cheat. I don't care about other's opinions anyway.
No one dared to talk to me after the incident. We're already in the 12th Grade; why won't they grow up instead of blaming others for their fault?
Hours passed and lunch time came. As I was about to pack my things, our class president, Gael, walked towards me and got my attention.
"Sometimes, helping others is not bad," he said as he pulled a chair and sat on there. I squint my eyes with his remarks. Is this about the way I ignored our classmates' plea during math class?
He added which made me raise my eyebrow.
"Why do you care?" He nonchalantly asked.
He just shrugged his shoulders and gave me a smile.
"You're smart, charming, and incredibly talented. You just lack respect towards others. It won't help you," he said. Ano bang gustong ipahiwatig nito? Ano bang kailangan niya sa akin?
I was about to say something when he suddenly walked past me and whispered something which literally pissed me.
"You're not the main character in everyone's lives, stop acting like one."
"If I'm not the main character, then why are you minding me— my actions and all?"
"I'm concerned with my classmates. As your class president, I want us to have a harmonious relationship inside our classroom. I hope that you understand that." He said and walked away.
I froze when I realized who that voice was.
"I heard everything."
