The majority of this episode takes place during flashbacks to a few months after Season 4, where Sam and Tory are forced to do the unthinkable... live under the same roof! Also, this episode was written a while back on A03, where I first posted it, before Season 5 came out. Going forward some things from S5 will be considered canon and others will not. I'm sorry it took me so long to post this as well as missing any comments. When I logged into my Wattpad account today -- just seeing all the love y'all have shown this WIP has filled my heart with so much joy! So now I'm back from my lull, with 5 more episodes dropping all at once! With Episode 11 sort of being like a midseason finale and a little sneak peak on what's to come being posted/published right after! I hope y'all enjoy it if you're reading these episodes for the first time! They were so much fun to write!
"Agent Griswold and Agent Johnson?" Tory raised her eyebrow, suppressing a laugh. "Seriously? Those were the aliases you picked out?"
"What?" Robby chuckled. "I love the National Lampoon Vacation movies! And barely anyone knows Cousin Eddie's last name!"
"Do I even want to know...?"
"Sensei was 'Agent Johnson'" Miguel laughed.
"How did you —?"
"My dad was one of those people," Robby smirked.
"With a full-proof plan like that," Tory laughed, "it's a miracle you three made it back home at all!"
"Speaking about home," Miguel squinted towards the kitchen, where Sam was glaring at each of them as she did her homework. "How are things going with..."
"Living with the LaRussos?" Tory sighed. "Amanda's been great about everything. Sensei LaRusso has been pretty cool. Brandon's had a great time hanging out with Anthony too."
"What about Sam?"
"We haven't tried to kill each other yet, if that's what you mean."
It'd been three months since Silver had bought out the shit-hole Tory's family called a home. And the term home was an over exaggeration if there ever was one. A home was where you could look back on the greatest moments of your life, and the Nichols never had a life. Just a constant struggle to survive. Her mother used to have a saying, almost a mantra: "Life is a struggle. If you aren't struggling everyday, you're not living."
And struggle was right. In five seconds, Silver succeeded in making Tory and her family homeless... only for Amanda to offer to pay for her mother to stay at the best medical center in the state, and for Tory, along with Brandon, to live with the LaRusso's. It was an adjustment for sure. Almost like wearing someone else's shoes that were one size too big. But, in all honesty, Tory did enjoy learning about Miyagi-Do karate, having actual family dinners, and someone she could ask questions about her homework to. She found it... calming. And with the daily hell that all their lives had become, she needed something like that.
"Have you tried talking to her?" Miguel asked.
"What would I even say?" Tory sighed. "Sorry, for all the times I nearly killed you? Even though, at the time, I thought you deserved it? LaRusso doesn't believe people can change."
"I don't think that's true," Miguel tried his best to be neutral. It was always a fine line to tread being friends with an ex, while dating her former rival. One he tried never to cross. "Sam does believe in people."
"Fine," Tory shrugged. "She doesn't think I can change. ...Or, at the least, she doesn't want to."
"Then give her a reason to change her mind," Miguel gave her a small grin. "Let her know the real you. You two are more alike than you think."
