"MY BEST FRIEND GAVE ME THE BEST ADVICE...!"
"125..."
Kira felt the sweat pouring down her forehead as she continued. It was four in the morning, and just like she had been for the past five months, was continuing her daily workout. The first of the regiment was push-ups on the rooftop of her apartment complex. The retro music Sensei Eli recommended blaring in her earbuds.
"135..."
It'd been harder to sneak out each morning, since Mandy Delgado had started to crash in her room. Figures Abbey would have a friend like her, let alone get their father to allow the girl to basically move-in with them. She'd even started classes at Kira's school, because of course she would. Having Mandy in her life was like having a second shadow. Which made it extremely hard to attend training at the dojo or her morning routines. But as Sensei Sam would say... "There's always another way, you just have to be smart enough to find it."
"150..."
Kira smiled despite herself, Sensei Sam was the one adult she could always count on. She wasn't just a mentor, she was almost like a surrogate mother. Sensei Sam would listen to her no matter what was bothering her, would let her vent about her dad, Mandy, Abbey... and Chelsea.
"169..."
The current Queen Cobra hadn't made life easy for Kira or her friends. Everyday the bitch would would find a new way to torture them. Whether it was slamming her into the lockers every morning, tripping her in the hallway, kicking her while she was down, and then stomping on her back, yelling slurs as Kira walked by in the cafeteria. Keene faced just as much, if not worse. The Cobras would corner her, and repeatedly punch her rib cage. While Brandon would endure a combination of the same attacks by Chelsea's new boyfriend.

"Son of a bitch!"
"Keene — stop! You've won." Sensei Sam ordered.
Keene's eyes flared, before glancing at Kira and finally Brandon. Giving them all the look of someone coming out of a trance, Keene shook her head with a shudder.
"I'm sorry, Brandon," Keene extended her hand to help him to his feet. "I don't know why I did that. ...I just lost it for a second."
"No worries," Brandon sighed with a half-grin. "With everything the King Cobra's been putting me through — I'm used to getting my ass handed to me. Though, I will say the arm lock was a new one."
"Yeah, that was a little too hardcore," Kira added. "What made you decide to use that move?"
"I don't know," Keene said, her voice anxious, "instinct, I guess? Guys, I'm sorry... I could've... I didn't..."
"It's okay," said Kira. "We know you wouldn't actually ever go that far."
"Yeah," said Brandon. "If there's anyone I know I can count on — it's you. ...Both of you. We're in this together."
"Till the end," Kira smiled.
"...Thanks," Keene replied.
"And speaking of the end," Brandon smirked. "I have mine all planned out. Fighting a badass battle against twenty cobras as they corner me and burry me alive. And I just keep trying to claw my way out to the surface... which I finally manage with last my breath. Huh? Epic or what?"
"Oh, no — this would be epic — Cobra Kai has their goons propel down from the rafters during a school dance or something — surrounding everyone! And the final fight breaks out just as I manage to tackle their leader to the ground — he blinds me — and —!"
