Riley collapsed on the wall inbetween Dustin and Mike, they'd spent the whole of the day running around trying to get someone to cover for Lucas, but nobody wanted to. Riley had even called Steve, but he told her he couldn't make it sue to some date he had.

"I hate high school." Mike spoke, Riley nodding in agreement.

"So screw it." Dustin suddenly spoke up after a few seconds of silence.

"Screw what?" Riley questioned.

"Screw high school." Dustin suddenly jumped to his feet grabbing Riley's hand as he pulled the Harrington girl towards Hawkins Middle School, leaving Mike to chase after them confused.

"What? What?" Mike yelled after them, "Dustin, where are you going? Riley?"

"Just trust me!"

"Come on, talk to me. Tell me things!"

"Absolutely not." Eddie shook his head. They'd given up trying to find a substitute at Hawkins High School and so had changed their plans and collected Erica Sinclair from Middle School, knowing there would be a good chance she would happily help them.

Although Eddie didn't seem to happy with the idea.

"Absolutely not."

"You asked for a sub. We delivered." Dustin sighed.

"This is Hellfire Club. Not Babysitting Club."

"I'm 11, you long haired freak." Erica spoke, causing Riley to have to turn away trying to hide her smile.

"My, my, the child speaks." Eddie chuckled, before standing upright his chair scraping along the floor behind him, "So, what's your name, child?"

"Erica Sinclair." Eddie moved around the table so he was standing infront of the girl.

"So this is Sinclair's infamous sister."

Erica rolled her eyes glancing behind her towards Riley, "He's sharp."

"What's your class and level? Level one dwarf?"

"My name is Lady Applejack. And i'm a chaotic good half-elf rogue, level 14. And I will sneak up behind any monster you trow my way and stab them in the back with my poison-soaked kukri. And i'll smile as i watch them die a slow, agonising death." Riley raised her eyebrows, she had no idea Erica had been playing D&D this much, "So, we gonna do this, or we gonna keep chitchatting like this is your mommy's book club?"

The room fell silent for a few seconds before Eddie smiled holding his hand out towards Erica, "Welcome to Hellfire."

Riley stood behind Dustin watching in anticipation, Vecna had apparently somehow risen from the dead and the only people who were still alive were Dustin and Erica. They all moved away from the table to huddle where Eddie couldn't hear them when someone finally decided to call for a time out.

"Guys, I hate to say this, but we've got to flee." Gareth whispered.

"I concur."

"Didn't we just agree 'to the death'"? Erica questioned.

"That wasn't literal."

"Vecna just decimated us. We can't kill him with two players."

"You too?" Dustin looked towards Jeff.

"He only has 15 hit points left." Riley reminded everyone.

"Exactly." Dustin nodded before turning to face the rest of the group, "Don't be pussies."

"Pussies? Really?" Gareth shook his head in disbelief, "Cause we're not delusional?"

"Delusional? how about not cowards?"

"Hey?" Eddie yelled grabbing their attention as they all turned to face him, "if I may interject, gentlemen, Lady Applejack, Riley. Whilst I respect the passion, you'd be wise to take Gareth the Great's concern to heart. There is no shame in running. Don't try to be heroes. Not today, okay?"

Dustin held his hand up, "One sec." Everyone turned back around into their huddle, "What do you think, Mike?"

"How many hit points do you and Applejack have left?"

"Twelve." Both Dustin and Erica spoke at the same time.

"it's risky as hell. But you're the ones on the battlefield. So it's your call."

"What do you say, Lady Applejack?"

"You really gotta ask?"

Dustin sighed turning to face Riley, who silently nodded her head at him. He smiled, "Screw it." He spun round to face Eddie, "Let's kill the son of a bitch."

The group yelled in surprise as Erica rolled a 20 successfully killing Vecna. Dustin smiled pulling Riley into a hug kissing her on the cheek before pulling her with him to hug Mike. Riley smiled ignoring the heat that spread to her cheeks carefully reaching up to grab Dustin's hat, placing it on her own head.

The Henderson boy froze for a few seconds looking down at Riley before he smiled once more leaning down to wrap her in a tight hug once more.

Riley looked up from where she was sat on Dustin's bed as someone knocked on his door. She sighed turning her supercomm of placing it to the side of the bed.

She'd gotten Steve his own supercomm for Christmas last year so they would always be able to get in contact with each other, but he wasn't replying.

The knock came again but this time Dustin spoke, worried she couldn't hear him, "Hey, Riley, you finished changing."

Riley stood up remembering the reason why he'd left the room in the first place, she rushed towards the door opening it to let him back in, "uh, yeah, sorry, got distracted."

Dustin nodded leading her back towards the bed taking her arm to sit her besides him, placing his arm over her shoulder pulling her into his side, "He's fine, okay." Dustin reassured, "I saw him with Robin earlier after the Hellfire. They'd been to the game."

"I know." Riley nodded, "I just like to hear it from him."

"I know you do." Dustin smiled lightly taking his hat from her head placing it on the floor besides Riley's supercomm, "How about, tomorrow, we go down to Family Video, and we can spend the whole day with him."

Riley nodded also starting to smile at the idea of spending the day with her two favourite people, "Yeah, okay."

Dustin turned to look at her his eyes seemingly twinkling in the light of his bedroom. Riley darted her eyes around the room, her cheeks tinted red, feeling Dustin's eyes on her. Finally she gave in looking back up at him.

He slowly lent down towards her lightly pressing his lips against hers. It was only for a few seconds but it still made Riley feel as if time had stopped. Dustin always had a way of making her feel like she was the most important person in the whole world.

He pulled away when there was a knock at his door. He rolled his eyes standing up to pull it open to find his mom at the door, "What is the light still doing on, it's late and you two need your sleep."

"We're going to sleep now, goodnight mom."
