Surprise...? • SIM JAKE

Your best friend, Hana, invited you to a family dinner with her family and a couple other invited friends. You said accepted the invite as the two of you were like sisters

"Y/N!" Hana exclaims, seeing you make your way toward her at the restaurant, you reply with a wave as you acquaint her parents

"Hi Mr and Mrs. Sim" you greet

"Hi Y/N" Ms. Sim smiles, you and Hana then continue to converse. After an hour you look at your phone to see how fast time had passed, you bring your attention back to Hana as you asked a question

"Who are we waiting for again?" You ask, Hana sighs as she answers

"My idiotic brother, he probably forgot about this, even though he invited his friends who're obviously here right now" Hana replies, referring to the other boys around the table. You shake you head slowly before seeing a boy run over to your table, he stops in front of Hana's parents as he breathed loudly

"I'm- so- sorry-" he said between breaths, you then assume the boy was Hana's brother, you never knew how he looked like so you it took you a minute to realize that was the said brother. His face was also covered as he entered the restaurant with a cap on

"Where were you Jake? It's been an hour already!" Hana retorts, eyeing her brother, Jake

"I was waiting for my girlfriend, I thought she said yes to the invite so I went to her apartment but it turns out she had other things to do today and I just read her text wrong" Jake replies, he then takes off his cap as he makes eye contact with you, you quickly widen your eyes at the sight of his face, doing an awkward wave at him as he shook his head with a laugh

"But I guess she did accept the invite from a different person though" Jake remarks, smirking as he walked up to you, he bends down as he gives you a peck on the cheek

"Hi babe" he smiles, Hana opens her mouth agape

"BABE?!"

You jump slightly out of your chair from Hana's sudden outburst. You didn't think the news would surprise her that much. Jake then takes the seat next to you, putting his arm around you as he set his cap down on the table.

"I love you Y/N, I would literally support your relationship with anyone, but MY BROTHER?!" Hana says, her arms crossed as she glared into Jake's head

"If you look on the bright side, she'll become your sister-in-law in the future" Jake pipes up, an arm around you as he sat beside you

"Shut your pie-hole Jake!" Hana exclaims, you laugh at Hana as you watched the siblings bicker

"C'mon Hana, I didn't know he was your brother okay! You said yourself you never wanted me to meet your brother so I never knew how he looked like" you say

"This was exactly why I didn't want you guys meeting each other! You were exactly Jake's type so I had to avoid you 2 meeting each other!" Hana retorts

"Well that plan backfired" Jake snorts, nuzzling his head into your neck

"Yah! Stop throwing yourself on my friend!" Hana scolds the older boy

"Well stop complaining to my girlfriend!" Jake shoots back, now wrapping an arm around your waist

"Sim Jaeyun, I WILL GET YOU ONE DAY!" Hana yells putting her hands up and pretending to put Jake into a chokehold in the air

"You know you love the fact that I'm dating her, you want her to become your sister as much as I want her as my wife!" Jake remarks, a tongue sticking at Hana, you blush at his words as you processed what he had said

"Jake! Don't say stuff like that!" You scold him

"Why not! It's bound to happen, why not let the world know you're already mine!" Jake whines

"ARGH, IM LEAVING, THIS LOVEY DOVEY STUFF MAKES ME WANT TO POKE MY EYES OUT WITH A TOOTHPICK"

------2 years later

"2 years and you're still with that asshole" Hana sighs. You smiled at her comment as you shrugged

"Going strong and healthy" You reply, fiddling with the straw in the cup of water in front of you. The table was now filled with everyone who attended the family dinner 2 years ago, the empty room now filling up with cheerful voices. You smiled gleefully at the happy atmosphere, turning back to Hana as you shoot her a comment

"And here you are, still single as a Pringle" You add, a smirk forming on your face. Hana rolls her eyes in response, averting her eyes behind you as she gasped. You raised an eyebrow in confusion

"What?" You question, Hana looks back and forth between you and whatever was behind you as you turned around slowly. You cover your mouth immediately as tears start to swell up in your eyes

Right behind you was where Jake revealed your guy's relationship with his family, yet the moment was replaced with something a lot more memorable. Jake stood on his knees with a ring, smiling cheekily as he looked at you lovingly

"L/N Y/N, my beautiful girlfriend, you've been there ever since the beginning of our college years, helping me pass through my highs and lows. As we've been together for 4 years I can't help but fall deeper in love with you, you're too hard to unlove, and harder to lose sight of, as years continue to come I wish to stay with you till the day we become ghosts, maybe even after we become ghosts, if possible" Jake says, a laugh following his last statement, he sighs in deeply before continuing

"I don't know what you'll say to my next question but, I know for sure I'll accept whatever you say, I'll wait for you if you aren't ready, I'll stand next to you if you say no, I'll never leave you as you're my first ever love. So Y/N, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" Jake hitches his breath as he looks up at you with wondering eyes, you look into his eyes breathless as you admire the man in front of you. Tears start streaming down your face as you shake your head aggressively

"Of course Jake!" You exclaim, throwing yourself onto him as you engulf him into a hug

"R-really?!" Jake says, hugging back your figure

"Why would I let go of the most important person in my life?" You laugh, hiding your face against Jake's chest

"So you're my fiancé then? She said yes! Oh my gosh I'm getting married!" Jake squeals, he then lifts you up from the ground as he twirled you around. The sound of cheers roared in the background, you looked down at Jake one more time as you found his love-filled eyes looking right back at you

"I love you Y/N" Jake says, a smile plastered on his face

"I love you too Jake" you reply, you pull him close as you connected your guy's lips, tears still streaming down your face as you smile into the kiss.

'It was worth it all'
