You came..I came • YANG JUNGWON

It was late at night, Jungwon was laying in bed, looking up at the ceiling as he had his eyes open

'I can't sleep dammit' Jungwon thinks

Jungwon continues to twist around in his bed, his bed sheets shuffling as he moved frequently. After a few minutes Jungwon was finally able to doze off, but sadly, he was quickly brought back to reality as a bad memory flashed across his mind. Jungwon groaned as he was annoyed of that happening for what seemed like the millionth time that night, he knew he had to do something if he wanted even as much as 5 minutes of sleep. He reached out for his phone as he dialed in a number, the name 'Her 😊' flashing across the screen

After a few rings a small hello was heard from the other side of his device

"hello?"

"uh hello"

"Won? did you need something?"

Your voice sounded raspy, it was clearly obvious you had just woken up. A sense of guilt spread throughout Jungwon's stomach as he felt bad for you waking up. He clears his throat slightly as he sits up from his bed

"Did I wake you up...?" Jungwon asks

"Mm? You're fine, I wasn't in a deep sleep or anything"

"Oh..okay"

"Yeah...are you okay though? I can talk since its...oh, it's midnight"

Jungwon felt even more bad after hearing your remark, he bites his lips as he lets out a shaky breath, your sleep was much more important than his needs at the moment (in his opinion).

'I guess I'll have to sleep without comfort tonight' Jungwon sadly smiles

"I'm fine, I was just wondering if you were awake or not, since you were sleeping I'll hang up, see ya at school tomorrow?" Jungwon says, your side of the phone went silent as he asked the question, Jungwon took it as a message you'd fallen asleep and quickly ends the call.

Jungwon now sat in his room in silence, tears were slowly rolling down his face as he knew what would happen if he were to go to sleep, and staying up was much more worth than sleeping with countless nightmares. He hugs his legs as he began to try and sing small lullabies to himself, sometimes closing his eyes as a way to feel even a slight of sleep.

After a few minutes a knock was heard at the front door, Jungwon stopped singing as he looked over at his alarm. The time '12:34' was labeled on it. Of course, a knock being heard at your door at 12:34 am is indeed creepy and in fact scary, but Jungwon thought nothing about it as he began to exit his bedroom.

'If I die tonight at least I'll be able to escape these horrid memories' Jungwon thinks referring to the nightmares he'd usually have at night

As he begins approaching his house doors, he lightly puts his hand on the door knob. He sighs slightly before closing his eyes, opening the door quietly. A sudden pair of arms was now wrapped around his torso, Jungwon is instantly startled at the physical touch, he opens his eyes quickly to see you

"Y/N?" he whispers

"I'm here Won" you say, your head resting on his shoulder.

You knew why Jungwon had called you, as soon as you saw his name on your screen you got up from bed and made your way to your car, immediately heading to his place. Jungwon was someone who had gone through many bad experiences, his parents were abusive, his grandmother was his only safe place, and because of his parents' random hatred for Jungwon, they took his grandmother away and left. Luckily he was old enough to comprehend the situation and was able to save enough money (through many side jobs) to be able to afford an apartment.

You began patting Jungwon's back as he went stiff, you tightened your grip on him as you start to feel the male slowly put his arms around you. Jungwon starts to cry uncontrollably at your reassuring voice, he doesn't move a single inch, his front door still open with you standing right in front of him

"Y/N" Jungwon cries out, he was continuously hiccuping as he kept on saying your name

"You came Y/N, you came" Jungwon says, his voice trembling as he loudly cried. His voice hurt your heart in the worst way possible. You and Jungwon were just friends, but over the years of getting closer to him you gained feelings, so seeing the boy in this state was devastating to you.

"I came Jungwon. I came" You whisper, pulling him closer. Jungwon's arm was now fully wrapped around you, his head was hiding in the crook of your neck as you had your head leaning on his. After a few seconds, you were able to enter the house and drag Jungwon to the living room after closing the doors. After settling down on a couch, you turned on the lamp beside you, you quickly sit back down as Jungwon stayed silent on the other side of you. He put his head down on your shoulder, grabbing your hand as he intertwined it with his.

Jungwon starts to play with your fingers as you began watching him, he was humming to random melodies while tapping on your hand to the beat he was humming

"Y/N" Jungwon speaks up

"Hm?" You reply, Jungwon tilts his head upwards as he makes eye contact with you, he gives a faint smile at the sight of your face

"Thank you" Jungwon says, you return the smile as you gave him a small nod

"You're welcome Won" You respond, Jungwon lets out a sigh of relief before getting up from the sofa

"I think I'm calm enough to sleep tonight, care to join me?" Jungwon says, you get up from the sofa as you took off your thin coat, you place the piece of clothing on the sofa before replying

"Why not" You say, Jungwon grins at your response, he immediately grabs hold of your hand as he starts to guide you to his bedroom. When you guys reached his bedroom, Jungwon quickly drags you to his bed, his blanket was at the edge of the mattress and his pillows were sprawled everywhere. He awkwardly lets go of your hand to fix the pillows before grabbing your hand once again to guide you to his bed. You sit down on the mattress as you start to slowly lay down on it, on the other hand, Jungwon had made his way towards his bedroom door so he could turn off the lights. After doing so, he goes back to the bed and quickly lays beside you. He gets comfortable on the bed, putting his blanket over both you and himself before hugging your waist, placing his head against your chest. You put an arm around him before comfortably resting your head on top of his too. You sigh deeply in relief at his calm breathing before waiting for the male to fall asleep.

After a few minutes you looked down at the boy to confirm he was asleep, after your short confirmation you put your head back on top of his, you start to stroke his hair before saying something

"You may not remember this Jungwon, but know whenever you need me I'll be there. I won't leave you ever. I'll always be on your side okay? I like you Jungwon, a lot actually." You confess, you smile at the boy attached to you before closing your eyes, this confession was your first confession to him face to face, but it was also your very last. Too bad he couldn't hear it.

"I like you too Y/N" Jungwon says, a smile forming on his face.
