Mistletoe • PARK JAY

It was Christmas eve, you were sadly looking out the window as you observed the ashy green grass on the ground outside. Christmas was tomorrow but there wasn't any snow covering the land yet.

"Y/N? What're you doing?"

Your boyfriend, Jay, walked up from behind you as you sat on the couch, you looked at the male, a frown upon your face

"I really wanted a white Christmas this year, but seeing how the weather is right now, I doubt Seoul will be having any snow this December" you sigh, you leaned your head against the cold window as you crossed your arms. Jay looked at your sad expression with worry as he sat beside you, this was your first Christmas with him, not only that but tomorrow also stated the day you and Jay had gotten together, your guy's first anniversary.

"It's okay Y/N, I'm sure your wish will come true" Jay says, pulling you into a hug in attempt to comfort you

You smiled at his action. You quickly hug him back, looking up at him so you could see his face

"You know what, you're right, as long as you're with me I'd be happy with whatever" you say, a grin appearing on your face. Jay mirrors your expression, he hugs you tighter, kissing you on the head before letting go

"Well sadly I won't be able to grant you that either, I'll be heading out now, call me if you need anything okay?" Jay says, getting up from the couch as he made his way to the front door.

You nodded your head at the male, following him from behind as you watched his actions. Jay, being the CEO of a major company, had been called into work a few minutes ago and was told it was urgent, Jay didn't want to leave you alone at first, especially since it was Christmas eve, but after a few minutes of you convincing him, he finally gave in and got ready to head to his company

"What time should you be home by?" you ask. Jay takes in a deep sigh as he shrugs

"I have no idea, but by hearing how urgently my company called me, I'm guessing 4-5 hours??" Jay estimates

"Oh..so you'll be back tomorrow then?" you confirm, you glanced at the small clock you guys had on a table close to the door. The clock had the numbers 9:34 across it, the aesthetic colors fitting right in with the house. Jay shrugs one last time as he looked back at you, he pulls you into a hug before making eye contact

"Most likely I'll be back around 1 am, I'll keep you updated though, Merry Christmas love" Jay smiles at you, his eyes relaxed as he deepens his eye contact with you

"Merry Christmas Jay, be safe okay?" you say, Jay nods in response, he bends down to give you one more kiss before letting go, exiting out the front door after waving you good bye.

You now stood by yourself in front of the door. Taking a deep breath you make your way back into the living room, looking at the same window you were looking at before

"Mind as well make the most of this Christmas eve" you sigh, you then make your way to the kitchen, having the idea to make cookies and hot chocolate for yourself and for when Jay got back home.

A few hours pass, it's now 11:46, a few minutes away from Christmas. Jay has yet to say anything about what he was up to and it low-key worried you, but you thought nothing much about it, his work did require a lot of attention after all.

You continued to sip your hot chocolate as you kept your eyes outside the window. To pass the time after you finished baking, you decided to put on some music in the background to help make time go by even faster when you looked out the window, praying silently that a speck of snow would just fall on your window.

"All I want for Christmas is you~" you hummed with the song playing as you tapped your coffee mug.
