Cupid strode towards Mount Olympus with purpose, his wings beating steadily behind him. He was more than satisfied with the outcome of his and Y/n's interaction. He has been given probably the first and last phone number he shall ever receive from a mortal. He kept it safe in the palm of his hand, secured by a balled fist. The fact that it was her number made him as giddy as a child, even if he couldn't completely understand the severity of exchanging numbers is to the morals that roam the earth.
There was just one problem though: how was he going to call her?
Just then, a few meters away, Eros noticed that his younger brother's demeanor was unusually happy. This was a cause for concern, given the controversy that he uncovered a little over a week ago. "Brother," he said as he landed gracefully in front of Cupid. His voice alone pierced the calming air, putting Cupid's good day to a bitter end. "What's brought on this cheerful mood?" He questioned. "I hope it's not because of that mortal." He practically whispered, not wanting them to be overheard by the other gods and goddesses although he was already playing a dangerous game mentioning Y/n in a sacred place such as Mount Olympus.
At least Cupid can be grateful that his brother, nor anyone else for that matter, knows what she looks like or her name. "I'm afraid that I don't know what you mean." Cupid decided to play the oblivious card as he crossed his arms over his chest, offering the god of lust a challenging glare which he oh-so respectfully returned. Even though he tried to act like he didn't know what Eros was talking about, Eros was not fooled for even so much as a second.
Suspecting that Cupid was hiding something, "Oh, don't try like to act that you're so innocent," Eros retorted. "You know what I'm talking about..." he stated, firmly. "Did a human bring this happiness to you?" He repeated his speculation from before.
"I..."
That was all Eros needed to hear.
Taking Cupid by the hem of his robe, Eros practically dragged his brother inside the nearest temple (which luckily belonged to Cupid). "H-Hey! Let go of me!" The god of love stuttered, refusing to be degraded in his own temple. He used both of his hands to try and pry off Eros' grip but his efforts were fruitless. "It's nothing to worry about. We're just friends." He said, despite him wanting more than a simple friendship with Y/n.
Eros narrowed his eyes. "'Just friends'?" He scoffed at the familiar saying, being all too familiar with it. "είσαι ηλίθιος... Cupid, I've been trying to warn you but you never listen to me. You can't be romantically involved with humans like that." He spat.
Cupid shrugged, finally giving up when it came to Eros unhanding him. "I know, but I can't help how I feel. And she's different. She's not like the others," he tried to explain things from his point of view. "Humans can be such vile creatures but she doesn't seem to fit this narrative..." he trailed off.
Eros sighed. He knew that his brother was in a difficult position, but he also knew that they needed to be careful. "I know. I've seen my fair share of amiable mortals," he agreed with this argument. "But I just don't want to see you get hurt, by her or by father. A broken heart can not so easily be mended but a broken home be persuaded." He painted a metaphorical picture for Cupid.
"Then why don't I keep my relationship with her a secret?" He suggested, knowing that many humans who fear being discriminated against or yelled at by their guardians tend to date their partner in secret. Until the time is right to come clean, that is.
"No, no..." Eros sighed exasperatedly before adjusting the blindfold that covered his optics. "We need to be more careful than ever now that we know that you're going to be chasing after a human from here on out. If Zeus finds out, there will be consequences." He kept repeating as if Cupid didn't know any better. He's weighted the pros and cons of his situation. He's willing to put his entire immorality on the line for Y/n. She's like a breath of fresh air that Cupid has been missing his entire life.
The god of love frowned, averting his gaze. "I know that, but what else can we do? I can't just stop seeing her. I love her." He replied.
Eros sighed. He knew that Cupid was in a difficult position. "We'll figure something out," he said, finally. "But this could mean trouble for us all. If and when you get caught, this little escapade of yours never involved me." He advised.
Cupid nodded, looking dejected but he understood. He should be the one to bear the consequences of his actions, not his siblings. "I know," he said softly. "I'll be careful. I-I mean, I have been careful." He corrected himself in hopes to appease his eldest sibling's nerves. And it wasn't like he was lying. Not only did he wait an entire week to see her again but when he did, Cupid approached Y/n in his human form for the utmost discrepancy.
Eros slowly removed his clumped hand from Cupid's robe. "I know you will," he said firmly. "We'll figure this out together." He shook his head. This was going to be a lot harder than it looks.
