Allan thanked me for the photos and said that a few officers were being sent to the hospital to get some further images and statements from the staff. They wouldn't bother me, and that if she was to wake, he would be close by. After all, there were still questions he needed to ask about Hannah and Amy. With those words, I pulled my chair closer, taking her hand in mine once I was seated. "I'm not going to leave your side, and you won't be alone. Please... let me tell you the words in person."

Lifting her hand to my face, I kissed her knuckles. Taking my other hand, so that I could steady myself properly as I placed it against my head. I ended up falling asleep like that. A ringing woke me causing me to open bleary eyes. The sound was coming from her clothes that had been placed in a bag. Standing I made my way to it, pulling a second phone from her pants pocket. The collar ID just said Retainer, unplugging the voice changer from my phone I put it into hers. "Raven. You've been compromised. You need to come in for a new identity-"

Stopping the man from talking I spoke. "You're a little late to the party. She is currently in a hospital with someone under arrest for attempted kidnapping and assault."

The line went quiet. "Who are you and how do you know her?"

Just a few more seconds. "Someone who knows more than you. When she regains consciousness, I'll have her call you back. She is part of a murder and kidnapping investigation at the moment." With those words I quickly ended the call. Pulling the battery out of the back, I placed it back with her stuff. As I was walking back to my seat, a nurse came in to check on her vitals and some kind of pressure device. She smiled, turning to me before she left.

Pausing in the doorway she looked back. "It looks like the brain bleed has stopped. She won't need any surgery to fix it. If anything, she might wake up in a few days. Depending on how she's feeling and reacting will determine the next steps. Alright?"

I nodded, moving my own attention to the window. It was getting late into the evening. The sun was almost set. Taking her hand, I squeezed it gently. "I'll be back. Don't go anywhere."

(Time Skip 3 Days)

I had been asleep for a few hours, like every other time I'd fallen asleep here. Her hand held in mine, my head against her leg on the bed. One of the nurses must have come in, placing a cover over my shoulders during the night. The monitor beeping quickly woke me, her eyes were trying to open, hand clamping around mine. I quickly stood, my fingers raking through her hair. "Hey, hey, it's alright. Calm down." Two nurses and a doctor came into the room, her casted hand reaching for the tube.

Her head thrashed when the nurse pulled her hand away. Stepping back I watched them pull the tube from her mouth. She coughed, tears ran down her face. Her hand clutched the doctors once the tube was free. "Where- What day- How long-... no where is he?" She was trying to sit up. The nurses were keeping her in the bed as the Doctor looked into her eyes.

He frowned. "You're safe. Give her 5 cc's Diazepam." The nurse was quick to leave, grabbing the syringe. I watched them inject her with it, her movements slowing until she was lying almost still on the bed. Her heart rate was still elevated. "Alright, you're in a hospital with several severe injuries. I need to look at some of them to make sure no sutures are open. Do you want your friend to be here for it?"

Her eyes blinked, drifting around the room until they landed on me. Her free hand reached out for me, I was quick to walk over to take it. "I'm right here, just like I promised. Let the man do what he needs to. When they're done, I'll call Allan." She nodded, turning her head away and letting her eyes close. The nurses left soon after the doctor had everything settled down. Looking over the stitches, and pulling out an ultrasound to check for internal bleeding.
