The next day I set out to meet Don and put on something casual but eye-catching since his history is just as bad as his uncles. I apply a little bit of makeup, spray a bit of perfume and zip up the knee high boots I decided to wear to bring my look together. I walk downstairs since I chose a room upstairs and see Xavier's face blushing in surprise once I walk up to him. "Wow, you look amazing." I nod fixing my lipstick in the microwave's reflection, "I know right? I haven't dressed up in a while." I stand up straight heading to the door and he opens it for me helping me into his car since where we're going is a bit of a distance.
When we get there Xavier gets out as I do and walks beside me since we're practically crashing Don's acceptance party he's throwing at a lake house he's uncle bought him. Walking in, I can see the rich kids already chugging beer and being obnoxious talking like they know everything when they know nothing at all. Xavier shows me a digital picture of Don on his phone giving me a refresher, a few more steps and I spot him trying to get a girl to go up to his room like he's done with others. "I'll swoop in and you get her away from here." I say only for Xavier to hear dropping the coat I had and walk over to Don. "Oh my gosh, Donnie!" I fake a smile kissing his cheek and he lets go of the girl's arm and I entangle his with mine. "Congrats! I didn't know you had it in you." I say taking his attention off everything else and only wanting him to focus on me.
"I'm sorry...do I know you?" He asks almost annoyed but mostly interested.
"Angel." I say in his ear looking over his shoulder seeing Xavier leave with the girl taking Don upstairs.
"I haven't met you before have I?" He checks me out with a sly smile reminding me of his demented uncle.
"No, but you'll remember me after tonight." I grin locking the door once I have him enter a bedroom and right away he gets comfortable in bed.
"I think I will." He goes to undo his belt but I stop him by doing it for him and using the leather to tie his hands to the bed frame.
"Now, I want you to answer a few things for me Donnie." I sit at the edge of the bed taking out a small pouch I hid in my knee high boots, "And if you don't answer correctly, you'll hate the end result just as much." I unfold the pouch showing four needles filled with a clear substance inside. "Does your uncle know how many innocent girls you assaulted?" Don scoffs trying to break free but I just take a needle getting it ready to inject it into his arm. "Does he?" I say getting impatient.
This monster has the nerve to say, "Best believe he provides the best hush money." Then laughs followed by him cursing asking who do I think I am, but I just jab the needle into his vein and hear him come to a complete stop then starts drifting to sleep. I take a sharpie writing him a message so that when he wakes he knows how to contact me. I toss the sharpie to the side and leave out the bedroom to the car where Xavier is waiting with a cigarette in his mouth. "How's the little man?" He says taking a drag from his cigarette. "He's snugged in bed, but will have a big surprise waiting for him tomorrow morning." I get into the car and Xavier does too shaking his head smiling. "What if someone walks in and unties him?" My lips curl into a big grin, "Oh trust me, no one is getting in." I turn the radio on rolling the window down taking my heels off tossing them to the backseat.
Xavier doesn't ask any more questions and takes us to a bar nearby.
As he goes inside I sit outside on top of the car's hood waiting for some wings and beer, not caring at the stares as I'm getting barefooted, cleavage showing and tight jeans hugging the curves I have making it impossible to hide.
Out of nowhere Rayne approaches with a joint lodge in his mouth but tosses it getting closer to me.
"You're bold for sitting out here in front of this place looking like that."
I shrug leaning forward, "Last time I checked I didn't give a fuck, but thank you for your concern." I lean back seeing his jaw twitch and his eyes explore my lips. "What can I help you with Evans?" I say sighing. "I need a way to call you and let you know when I'll have your cash for this week." I go to say something but Xavier walks up handing me my food and drink. "Check back in twenty-four hours." I say as I raise my beer to him then the sky then to my lips to take a sip as a ritual, to thank the heavens for giving me another day to enjoy the food I love and beer.
Rayne nods licking his bottom lip, "You're not easily impressed, are you?"
I shake my head placing my beer to the side. "No, I don't like small talk, friendly gestures or compliments. I like actions that match with other actions. Once you get that down pack you'll have a better chance to have a one on one with me. Plus, I don't do romance. Had it once. Didn't do anything but reminded me why I shouldn't give it a chance." I open the bag and take a wing out biting into it and both Xavier and Rayne just watched in astonishment for some reason.
Covering my mouth I say, "What?" and they both shrug walking inside the bar leaving me alone. I continued eating and decided to throw my heels back on wanting to dance to some jams that were playing inside the bar.
Men turn their heads as I enter but I just go to where the guys are sitting leaning over the bar counter asking for a shot of Tequila.
"Must be one hell of a night."
The bartender says to Xavier and Rayne as I sway my hips to the song playing.
Rayne keeps looking at me taking in every moment with a flicker of more curiosity he had before, wanting to know who exactly I was and making it his mission to be part of it, be a part of me.
