Me and Haka finished our lunch, fed some ducks, then we were on the way back to the living quarters. We promised Kianna and Sarah to meet up after lunch and have some fun together. I wanted to go back training, but I decided that it could wait a little. I really enjoyed the time with Haka, it drew my attention away from all the things I was worrying over... and it made me totally unready for what was coming.
My sensing power was way off... me and Haka were walking over to the students' living quarters when it finally overwhelmed my constant suppress. I almost fell from the impact... it happened so fast.
- Winnie, what's wrong? – Haka turned to me worriedly, but right in that second, something happened. It felt like an earthquake...
- An attack! – I screamed so loud that the people around us looked at me immediately. How could this happen? How couldn't I sense this? How desperately I was trying to get rid of my powers to not notice this?
It felt like the whole ground was shaking below us... and there I was, thinking about the conversation between me and Deán when he guessed what could have the first monster attack meant. Maybe a way to find out how strong the barrier around the Palace was... well, if that was the case, it was a success. The invisible barrier around the place shattered into million pieces.
- Haka, we have to make it into the Palace, right now! – I grabbed her... she was in shock already. I could understand, suddenly a swarm of monsters appeared on the top of the walls that lied around the Palace. And they came in without a stop.
Just like the attackers themselves – I suddenly felt so many demons that I could hardly count. I didn't have time, my priority was to make sure Haka survived. I knew that the voices meant this. This moment. The time came when I wouldn't be able to save people precious to me – it must have been this time. Right?
But my voices were silent... it was incredible, last time I felt something was when I was beside Deán, so close that my brain was full with his presence. Right then it was a different reason, though... my sensing powers skyrocketed and I could hardly see anything ahead of me. I was running towards the main building of the Palace by instinct. Dragging my best friend along who was already crying.
- We will all die, Winnie! – she cried miserably.
- No one will die! – I screamed back angrily. I wouldn't let them. I would die first... then I realized that it was only Haka I knew about. Sarah and Kianna must have been in the girls' living quarters... Tyler and Dam in their rooms. Deán in the Palace... he was the safest. Well, and the best fighter, he would be probably sent out in a situation like this, alongside his brother. That just made me even more anxious.
- Winnie, they attacked everyone! – Haka cried as the helpless shouts were getting louder and louder.
- Can't deal with it right now! – I shouted back while running with my full speed, slowed down by Haka who kept tripping over her own feet. I knew that the attackers meant no mercy to anyone they had caught... and this was the reason why I ran that fast. Because I had to save Haka. I wouldn't let the voices to be right this time.
But I wasn't a fast runner. And Haka was hard to deal with... it was only a matter of time before we were caught. And let me tell you, it was like a hurricane – well, no miracle, the woman who reached us first was a wind type with a strong wind demon. Me and Haka were pushed some feet ahead, the sharp gust felt like million little blades on my skin.
- No! – Haka cried miserably as she tried to get up immediately. The woman looked at her and decided that she was an easy prey... for one moment, I froze down. The woman was wearing blue. The Water Clan didn't even hide the fact anymore. And with that, I realized that I was watching the first moments of a new war that was bound to happen for years. And when I looked at that woman – who wasn't just beautiful with her long black hair and porcelain skin -, my clairvoyance was loud and clear.
