I assess my surroundings. There looks like there has been a hurry by the previous inhabitants, furniture is scattered randomly. The large plasma TV still playing children's entertainment. The kitchen tap left running and the fridge door wide open. Something must be terribly wrong. If only I knew what was happening. I cleaned my wound with water mixed with some salt I managed to find. Except from the stinging it seemed like the worst part was over. I decided it would be okay uncovered and left to heal naturally. I looked through the front window at the road again. There were no cars. There were no people. There were no animals. Yet I could still hear an unusual grumbling sound. I couldn't determine the source of the noise so I again put it down to the stormy weather. I decided to look around the house. There were no clothes left in any of the wardrobes so I was stuck in my dirty ripped clothes for now. The food in the fridge had become spoiled and quite honestly I didn't feel that hungry. Maybe it was the shock. Maybe it was stress. Maybe it was the unknown. What should I do now? The sky was growing darker and I could see no one for miles in all directions. I went outside and let out a large yell "Hello?". "Is there anyone there?" I continued. There were no replies. Not even a sound, except for that grumbling that hadn't gone away. I retreated back inside. The air had grown cold and despite the fact there was no heating in the house it felt like a tropical paradise in comparison. What else could I do now except go to sleep? I walked upstairs and choose the first comfy bed I saw. I rested my hair on the light feather pillow and before I knew it I was out for the count.
