What had I just agreed to? Going out there with the flukes seemed insane. But I have no time to think about it, I'd made my decision now and I had to grab supplies. I hurried to pick up my bag from my room and filled it with various cans stashed away in the food room. I made sure no one saw me, I can't think what would happen if I was caught. I tried putting together a list in my head of things that we might need out in the wilderness. My brain couldn't think properly, thoughts and doubts circling. The only conclusion I came to was that a knife might be handy for hunting so I put that in my bag as well. I felt like I was running out of time so I walked in the direction of the barrier in order to meet Hope and kid. They were there waiting, greeting me with a smile. Even though I felt like I was leaving my camp family behind, I think I had found my true family right here in these two and I didn't need anything else. What was it about this girl that made me act crazily? I had only known her a few days but she already meant so much to me. I grabbed her hand in mine, surprising her slightly in doing so, and kids hand in the other before saying "Us three against the world, ok?". They both nodded and smiled in return before we sneaked under a small gap in the fence one by one into the big bad world.
