The End Of Nothing And The Beginning Of It All

Chapter Seven: Hope

"You are trespassing on our territory, you must leave immediately. In approximately one minute the noise of this message will trigger the flukes to come here so we advise you start running" was the message delivered over a large tanoi system. As much as the message intimidated me, I had so many questions and few alternatives. This was my only chance to survive. The only sign of other human life in the last few days.
"Please help me, I promise I am no threat. I am lost. I have no food. I don't know what is happening or what the weird creatures are or whatever you call them. Please I have no other option. I'll do anything" I pleaded out randomly towards the sky, unsure where the voice was coming from. I looked around to see a large man-made steel barrier a few meters away from me. It must be coming from behind there. However it was silent. There was no response. But what was I to do? These creature things were supposedly already on their way and I had no where to go. I would die of thirst and hunger soon anyway. I was in despair. I sat down on the cold hard ground excepting my fate. I began contemplating about my life before and what I couldn't remember, but still nothing came to my mind. Maybe it was good that I had nothing to lose or miss I thought. It felt like a lifetime before I heard a loud creaking sound. When I looked up, the steel barrier had opened slightly. There was a tall armoured person standing at the entrance ushering me to come in.
