I started to roam the abandoned streets of this strange town. The wind howling and those strange rumbling sounds echoing in my head. The sky was a beautiful clear blue now. The sun beaming down, starting to cause the back of my neck to sting. Maybe the sound wasn't the weather? It felt like I had been walking for miles. Each house I passed seemed as empty as the last. I continued shouting for help but no one heard. Was I on my own in this world? It was as if the human race had been wiped out or teleported to another planet. The further I got, I started to see abandoned cars and suitcases scattering the streets. I looked inside a brand new red 4x4, the warning light was flashing with an empty fuel gauge. The owners of this car had clearly got as far as they could before their car gave up on them. What were they running away from? Was it that bad? There were no signs of life. I was exhausted and felt like I had been walking for an eternity. It was growing dark again and I now had nowhere to sleep unlike the night before m. I continued to walk as the sky grew darker and darker, hoping I could find somewhere to rest my head for the night. It was almost pitch black, I couldn't see far in front of me at all and I had no source of light with me. Luckily I soon found what looked like an abandoned brick shed, the moonlight shining strategically through an small glassless window on the side of the building providing the light I needed. I had nowhere else so inevitably this would be have to be my house for the night. I used the backpack as a pillow before attempting to close my eyes and get some sleep. How successful that would be I was unsure.
