Bright light streamed through the double window, waking me from my slumber. I immediately got out of bed and walked straight over to the source of the light. I looked out. There were no changes, except the improved weather of course. I decided a shower might be nice. Wash off the dirt and grime that was spread all over my pale dry skin but to my dismay no water came out of the shower head. Oh well I thought, just another day stuck in the same old grubby clothes. I went downstairs to root through the food cupboards. Had this family taken the whole food supply with them? How was that even possible? Apart from dried rice and pasta which was useless without water, two tins of baked beans stood alone in the corner of a large white gloss kitchen cupboard. Eventually I was going to need more than that. And I needed to find some other people in order to know what's happening. I found a small backpack in one of the bedrooms which I loaded with the tins of baked beans and a bottle of lemonade that had been in the fridge. That can't be spoiled right? There was very little else left in the house that would be of much use. I felt guilty about it but I also decided to rip up some of the pillow cases off the sofa. You never know when fabric is going to come in handy, I might need it for extra warmth. So off I set out of the porch, watching the blue door disappear slowly further away as I walked. Rested but none the wiser. Time to go and find some answers...
