KANAN'S POV

I hugged mom, she was not ready to leave me. Dad and mom were too sad and emotional as now Viraj and I are going to live together now in another bungalow. Mom cupped my face and smiled at me. "Daughter, if you ever feel lonely or miss home, just come here. We are always going to welcome you with open arms."

I smiled at her and squeezed her hands. "Yes mom definitely. Why only when I'm lonely or sad, I'll keep coming here again and again."

"Viraj, I would again ask you son," dad put his hand on his shoulder. "What is the need to move out together? I agree we live in the USA, but our roots are from India. It's not in our culture."

I looked at Viraj and he looked at me. What was he going to say? "Dad..", I said. "if you don't want us to go, we'll happily stay here."

"No daughter, we don't want to keep you against your will in this house. We all are aware of the house, sorry, mansion you were living in. You are used to that lifestyle, it's not your fault that we can't afford...."

"Dad, what are you saying?" I was surprised.

"Daughter, I'm saying the truth."

He was thinking wrong of me. According to him, I couldn't adjust in this house so I asked my parents to give us another mansion where only me and Viraj can stay together. Viraj held my hand and told his dad, "No dad. Kanan accommodated very well in this house. I don't know why this thought came to your mind."

"Yes," mom patted dad's back. "How dare you quote such absurd reasons on my daughter's farewell. Have some shame. She was living here like a family. She never said anything of any sort which was mean. How much do you want her to adjust?"

"Then what's the need to go separate?" He looked at me now.

"Dad, you're thinking wrong. The reason is not that this house is small or something. It was decided by my mom and dad. They wanted to gift us a house. It's their wish to see us living in that house. If you don't want, I'll tell them. I don't have any issues in staying here, it's my home!" I said, tears glistening in my eyes.

I went towards the car, took out my suitcase from it and stormed inside the house. The tears kept flowing down my skin.

How could dad think that I wasn't satisfied here or I wanted to move out because this house was small? His words hurt me a lot and I don't know what is going to happen next. I threw my suitcase on the side and fell on the bed. Tears weren't stopping. He thought I want to live in a big bungalow.

The only reason I was going there was because the house was gifted by my mom and dad with lots of love to us. Like I always listen to their things, they should also understand the emotions and sentiments my parents have.

I kept on crying for some time when I heard the door open.

"Kanan, how much more time you're going to take hmm?"

It was Viraj.

I sat on the bed and looked at him.

VIRAJ'S POV

I looked at her cute face, her cute swollen eyes with tears on her soft cheeks. I just wanted to hold her face and squish it. She looked so cute even after crying. My cheeks turned red as I gulped.

"What do you mean?" She wiped her tears and started to look at another direction.

I went near her and took her hands in my own. "You're upset because of what dad said?"

She nodded a no.

"Kanan....", I said and engulfed her in a tight hug.

I don't know if I should have done this or not but I felt her hands moving on my back. Goosebumps arose on my skin, when her hands held my back, her soft breaths against my skin. This was such a beautiful feeling. Some strands of her hair, touching my skin, teasing it and irritating my nostrils. Her soft body pressed against mine. She was warmer and nicer than a pillow. I kept hugging her, inhaling the sweet scent of her body.
