CHAPTER 29: Promise

(mention of blood, bruises)

Taehyun woke up with his body all sore from last night. He turned his head to look at Beomgyu, only to meet his pretty glossy eyes that were shining from the sunlight that came through the window.

"good morning sweetheart"

"good morning hyung"

Both of them cuddled for sometime, giggling and laughing in between. There was silence for sometime and Taehyun decided to break it.

"hyung ?"

"hm ?"

Beomgyu hummed while both of them stared at the ceiling. Taehyun had his head resting on Beomgyu's chest.

"is there an end to this ?"

"there is... actually"

Taehyun turned his head, looking at Beomgyu.

"then why don't you just....end it ?"

"i can't hyunie...my dad wants me to help with his plan... once it's successful.... I'm free then ? i guess"

"oh.."

Taehyun laid back and shifted closer to Beomgyu, wrapping his arms around his waist.

"hyunggg.."

"yes baby ?"

"please don't get hurt....i know this is a field where there are countless fights and all but...i don't want you to get hurt"

"don't worry baby I'll be fine-"

"no like... I'm serious ! please don't get yourself in danger hyung...i love you a lot... really"

Beomgyu stared at Taehyun's big doe eyes and smiled softly, pulling Taehyun down to place a kiss on his forehead.

"I love you too"

It's been two months now. And yes, they have graduated. Taehyun joined an online job because Beomgyu didn't want him to go outside alone and Taehyun was quite satisfied with what work he did.

Taehyun heard the front door lock clicking and ran as fast as he could. He has always been this excited whenever Beomgyu came.

He hugged Beomgyu and pulled away immediately when he felt that something was off. He looked at Beomgyu and his face turned into a worried one.

"hyung !! w-who did this- oh my god"

"I'm fine bub... don't worry...just some ordinary bruises-"

Beomgyu started coughing. Taehyun rubbed his back but Beomgyu kept coughing. He rushed to the kitchen and got a glass of water but as soon as he came back, he saw Beomgyu falling on the floor.

"HYUNG !!"

Beomgyu rested his palms on the floor and coughed continuously. Taehyun tried to make him drink water but it only got worse. He rubbed Beomgyu's back again and froze when Beomgyu coughed out blood.

"hyung- w-what happened oh no- oh my- h-hospital-, let's go to the hospital-"

Beomgyu finally stopped coughing and wiped his mouth, staining his cheek with the blood. His eyes were filled with tears due to the painful coughing. He held Taehyun's arms and shook his head.

"no hyunie... I'm fine-"

"how is that fine ??? you coughed out blood hyung !! w-where did they hit you- show me !!"
