It's currently half past nine and I'm in my bathroom, applying some cologne as I check my self out, brusshing my hair ever so slightly to make it look as casual as possible.

I feel some arms wrapping my waist as I turn around, staring at a pretty girl.

-We are gonna be so late- she says, as she took this as a chance to brush her hair, again.

-I was just finishing- I say smiling a bit- plus Jonas told us we could start arriving whenever we felt like it.

-Yeah but I don't know, I don't want to look bad in front of your bosses- she says which makes me roll my eyes.

-Olivia, I was late almost every day for work and they still love me so don't even worry about that- I say, finally getting out of the bathroom.

-But that's because you are funny- she says worried, following me.

I don't even bother to answer that so I just open my apartment's door and get out.
As we walked through the narrow hall she interlaces our fingers, me rubbing her hand trying to comfort her.

-It'll be okay- I say to her as I kissed her head- just enjoy this night.

She looks up a little bit and smiles- I will.

We get in the elevator and I can't avoid looking at her, staring at her beautiful complexion.

Olivia has been my best friend for so long.
She had always been there for me when I was at my lowest, she was the one who discovered I was living in my car and the one who worked her ass off to get me a job in LA.
We stopped having contact once I flew to Charleston but it was when I came back to LA, when I realized how much I'd missed having her by my side.

She was very special to me and I needed to try my hardest to protect her.
She was like a little sister for me and she had gone through so much, losing both of her parents at 15, not having enough money to study for her dream carreer, medicine, which made her work as a waitress until now.
Until now because I had decided to pay for her med school.
She told me I was crazy but I couldn't even begin to imagine what's like not being able to work at your dream job.
She was smart, she was kind, she was respectful and empathetic , god, she had everything but money to be a good doctor.

-Chase- Olivia says, which makes me realize that we had arrived to my car.

-Oh sorry- I say giggling a bit, grabbing my keys and opening her door.

Once we get inside she asks me- were you thinking about her?- rubbing my leg.

Truth was, I wasn't, until she asked me.

-Well, not till now- I say rubbing my nape, pressing the engine and hoping she had noticed my uncomfortableness.

-I'm sorry- she says, staring at the window.

I put some music in the background as I begin saying- I was thinking about how good of a doctor you are going to be.

She immediately blushes- stop- she says.

-Not you blushing- I giggle, playing with her hair.

She looks at me and smiles- I'm so thankful Chase, you didn't have to.

-I know- I say, trying to focus on the road- but I owed it to you, that's what friends are there for.

She nods- Thank you, really.

-It's fine, it's the least I could do, you've really helped me- I say, getting a bit emotional, remembering everything I'd been through the last weeks of last year.

She grabs my hand- You sure you are okay?- she asks me, making me look at her a bit, while I was still focused on the traffic.

-I think so- I say, not wanting to think too much about it.

-You going out tonight is really an improvement, it shows how well are you getting, I'm so proud- she tells me.

-Stop you are gonna make me blush- I joke, my hands getting sweater as I saw on maps how close we were getting to the Pub Jonas was celebrating his 50th birthday.

She seems to notice my nervousness since she turns up the music volume.

-Let it all go out- she says, almost deafening me.

We both start screaming, in the middle of the road, our arms dancing as our throats yelled for their lives- SAVE YOUR TEARS FOR ANOTHER DAY!!- we sing.

-Oh god- I say- turning down the volume as the song finished- we are here.

-That felt good didn't it?- she asks me, as I start parking my car.

-Better than sex- I say laughing, getting out of the car.

-Shut up- she says, checking herself out in the mirror, for the millionth time today.

-Olivia- I say, running to her side- you look perfect, now let's go, we are already late- I say laughing, running to the door, where a big man dressed in a suit was standing.

-Didn't Jonas say that we could arrive whenever we wanted to?- she asks very seriously.

I just laugh as the man looks at us, waiting for us to say our names, in order to let us in.

-I'm Chase Stokes and she's my guest- I firmly say, waiting for his reaction.

He just nods, walking to the side of the door, letting us in.

As soon as I place a foot on this place I already know this was a bad decision.

-It'll be fun come on- Olivia says as If she had just read my mind, with one of her hands up, vibing with the loud music.

The atmosphere was packed, lots of people dancing, lots of bodies moving quite closely, lots of drunks.
Oh wow, were have I gotten myself into? I think, as I followed Olivia, our hands holding each other, in order to not get lost, even though I deeply knew that it was just to bring me comfort.

-What do you fancy drinking?- she yells in my ear, since the music was very loud.

-Dunno- I say thinking- maybe a beer?- I tell her which makes her roll her eyes.

-Booring- she sings as she orders a beer and two tequila shots.

-I already told you I don't feel like getting drunk- I tell her, well, I scream at her.

She acts like she hasn't heard me, even though, I knew for a fact she had, and hands me my beer.

-It's on Jonas Pate- The bartender says before Olivia got a chance of getting her card out.

-Oh okay- she says as she drunk her shot, just like that.

-Oh girl I see- I say laughing at her face.

-YAYYYY- she screams as the alcohol hit her throat- come on, let's dance Chase!

She starts making her way into the crowd, making me follow her.
Once we are in the middle of the crowd she starts jumping up and down, like a little child, which makes me think "fuck it, it's just one night" and that's what I promise myself, to have a fun night, free of drama, forgetting about everything and everyone.
At the end of the day, that's what I needed, to forget about everyone.

At least, that's what I wanted until I turned around and saw her, there she was.
