Chase

It's been a week since I last saw her.
We've been chatting every now and then but it's obviously not the same.
Don't get me wrong, It's not weird nor awkward, but it's clear that both of us are trying our best to not screw anything up.
I just want to be friends again, like the first weeks of filming, well, who do I want to lie to, maybe a bit flirty but that's it. No kisses, no deep stares and of course, no sex.
I promise I'm going to try my hardest.

After closing my apartment's door, I begin to head downstairs in order to meet my mom, who was waiting for me in my apartment parking lot.

I was definitely not ready for the set of questions that were waiting for me as soon as I was going to get on that car so I had prepared some excuses.
The worst part is that I completely understood her, she was probably confused about Maddie not being in my apartment and her getting to the airport by her own and god, I knew I should have told her sooner, I promise I regret that every single minute of my life but how could I explain that to her?
She would feel so betrayed if she found out I had been lying to her for months and more even if she discovered how bad I treated Maddie on the last months of our relationship.

However, I know that, at some point i would have to explain her everything because, sooner or later both of us would find another one, as much as it hurts to think about that, it is a fact.

I can't imagine my life without her but a relationship involves two people and, if one of them doesn't want it, there's nothing to be done but to move on.

Again, it hurts but it's a fact.

I finally manage to get outside, trying to get all my thoughts off my head.
The sun light immediately makes me go blind, me having to narrow my eyes.
After a solid minute I find my mom's car, i took longer because as I said, the sunlight was clear than usual, and we were only in february.

-Hi Chase!- my mom says as I sit next to her.
My step dad was on a business trip so he wasn't able to make it, instead, Evan brought his girlfriend, who would also get to the airport on her own.
That was the only thing which relaxed me since Maddie and I wouldn't look so bad for not getting there together.

-Hi mom- I said as we shared a small hug- hi guys- I tell my siblings as I annoy my sister playing with her hair.

-ugh- it's the only thing she manages to say before going back to sleep.

It was weird that I wasn't tired considering it was nine in the morning but my head was going crazy, all nervousness because I would see her again after last time.

-Where's Maddie?- Griffin asks as he repositions himself in his seat.

I roll my eyes- she's coming on her own- I tell him as I rest my head on the window, while my mom finishes placing my suitcase and starts driving towards the airport.

-You sure you two are okay?- Rylie asks- I haven't talked to her at all lately, something feels off.

-That's the same thing I told him, y'all used to be together 24/7- my mom says, which gets on my nerves.

-How many times do I have to tell you that we are okay, why would I lie about it? you'll see that we are totally fine, we are just more mature and learning how to handle our relationship more privately, if the show works, we don't want people to know, we just want to be private- I say.
It was not a lie at all beacuse that's what we had planned on doing when we used to date.
