Bent lovers- a Chase and Madelyn story (part 2)

CHAPTER 2

CHASE

There she was.

I stayed still, feeling Livs' body dancing next to mine, my limbs not being able to respond.
There she was.

She was wearing a black fitted dress and a high ponytail.

She's gotten blonder, I think to myself, not being able to stare at anyone else but her.
My eyes missed her, god, my entire body missed her.

Her cheeks were rose, probably because of the alcohol and the packed atmosphere.
She had her eyes closed, dancing next to Elaine, both of her arms up, dancing to the rhythm of the music.

She was there, dancing in a crowded room, looking so happy, probably because I was not with her.

She looked so ethereal, so real.

Some people start crashing with me, probably because I was standing in the middle, staring at her.

Suddenly I see her opening her eyes, seeing me.

She blinks a few time, as if she was checking that I was not an illusion created by alcohol, checking that I was in fact there.

Then, the most unexpected happens, and I see a tear rolling down her face.
She immediately turns around to probably wipe it and then she disappears into the crowd.
I lost her, again.

I needed to go to her, I needed to hug her and tell her that It was going to be okay.
I needed to wipe that tear with my finger while I stroked her cheek and put a strand of hair behind her ear.
I needed to touch her.

But then I realized that I wouldn't be able to so that ever again.
She probably didn't trust me and oh, I don't blame her.
I treated her like shit.
She deserves someone better, she really does, even though the thought of seeing her with someone else makes my heart shatter in a million pieces.

-Chase- someone says while patting my shoulder.

I look to my right, to see Olivia trying to catch my attention- did you see her?- she asks.

I don't say anything- I'm gonna say hi to some people, you wanna come?- I say, completely changing the topic.

She rolls her eyes as she starts walking next to me, us heading to the VIP room that Jonas had booked for his birthday.
I immediately start recognizing everyone or at least being familiar with their faces.

-Look who we got here- I hear Jonas says which makes me turn around.

He immediately engulfs me into a hug as he laughed- long time no see- he says.

-Been busy- I reply because telling him that I hadn't visited him because I was in the worst depression ever, didn't seem like they smartest nor brightest answer.

-Hi, nice to meet you- Jonas says as he realizes there was a girl next to me, holding my hand.

-You too!- Liv excitedly says- I'm Olivia.

Jonas smiles as he looks at me with a confused look, waiting for me to say something.

-She's my best friend- I quickly reply, which makes him die out of laughter.

-Oh Chase, you've got a lot of best friends, don't you?- probably referring to the fact that he saw me naked in a car with my past best friend.

I just roll my eyes and keep saluting people, talking quite a bit about how everything's been.

I was taking to Madison, who apparently knew Olivia since they both had a mutual friend when she suddenly says- look who's hear!! you other bestie Chase!!- she says excitedly, waving to someone.
