It was their third month. It felt like it was all passing by so fast, but they knew it wasn't. Woodland still didn't quite understand why he hadn't seen Deborah for so long, but he always made little cards for her to send with one of the others. Samantha and Benjamin ended up being the two that swapped out bringing stuff up to Deborah whenever she needed it. Matthew was now starting to get hit with some of Deborah's morning sickness, so he locked himself away, his energy being taken away from him. Wesley was not around the others as much as he was around Deborah. However, despite that, Samantha and Benjamin did watch after Bailey and how she was growing. She is six months old and growing fast. Samantha had been taking charge of caring for everyone in the house recently. Welsey had been in and out of the house as of late. He said that he was getting them some extra security, plus, he wanted to see what the surrounding areas were like. However, Deborah still needed someone when he was not around.
Samantha and Benjamin were sitting in the living room playing with Bailey when they heard someone call out names. Benjamin was the first one to notice, due to his enhanced senses.
"Sam, did you hear that? It sounded like mom- ", Samantha gave Benjamin her attention only to be stopped as she heard the name calling for herself.
"Yes, I think I did, and I'm pretty sure it's mom- y-your mom." Benjamin caught onto Samantha's words, but didn't say anything about it.
"Do you want me to check on her or you too?", Samantha thought for a second before answering.
"It's been a while since you got to see her. Why don't you go? You can always call me if there is something she needs that you are unsure about."
"Okay Sam, thanks! I'll be right back- ", with that he stands and practically runs up the stairs, excited to see Deborah again. He hasn't seen her in over two weeks! He missed laying in her bed, his head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat. Benjamin had found that the heartbeat of his mother was very soothing for his body and mind to listen to. He reaches her door and knocks quickly and quietly. He hears a 'come in' and walks in, excited still.
"Hi Mom, it's me.", he peaks his head in and can see his mother laying down on her bed, her eyes glued to the door.
"Hey, Benjamin. Come here- ", she lifts her arm and pats an empty space on the bed right next to her. Benjamin speed walks over and sits down on the spot. Then he sees it, her eyes have bags, and she looks exhausted.
"Mom, are you okay? Is there anything I can do for you? You look tired."
"Oh Ben, I'm okay. Truth be told, this is easier than you were.", Benjamin looks at Deborah, surprised to hear her mention something about him.
"Wait, really? I was worse than this?"
"Yes. But not by much. With you, by month three, I was so exhausted that I didn't even have the energy to move to the bathroom. I ended up rolling over to Wes and begged him to carry me around!", Benjamin couldn't help but laugh at the thought of his mom having to be carried around everywhere.
"No way Wesley did that for a whole month!", Deborah chuckled.
"He did! Not for a whole month, but two weeks! I ended up getting some relief since Wes ran to my doctor and asked for something to calm me out. It worked amazingly well! I slept for almost three days after.", the two of them laughed together.
"Wow, Mom! I had no idea! What else? I want to know more, if you don't mind.", Deborah chuckles softly, then looks at him, her heart aching. The realization that she has missed so many years hits her like a truck. She lifts her hand up and touches her son's face, carefully stroking his cheek, where the mask was not touching.
