FIVE DAYS had passed since the missing student case had been closed. Jane had been found and I hoped that Detective Apollo had managed to keep Alex safe, although I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Despite this, we tried to continue with our daily routines at the University, going about our normal activities as if nothing had happened. Makinig sa discussions, activity, kain at uwi sa dorm and paulit-ulit kong ginagawa.
Ilang araw ko rin hindi nakakausap nang matagal si Yoda at ang iba ko pang kasama sa program. I never anticipated that our break would extend for so many days. Sineryoso masyado ni Professor Apollo ang pag-pa-pahinga saamin. There were no meetings called, no updates on the everyone at the program and of what was to come next.
The thrill of solving mysteries. It's like a drug that I can't get enough of. I think without it, my life feels dull and mundane. Sometimes I find myself daydreaming about new cases to solve, imagining the twists and turns that I would encounter along the way. I can't help but admit that I miss the rush of solving cases, the thrill of unraveling a mystery. It might sound strange, but I find myself drawn to the world of investigations. But for now, I have to settle for the mundane routine of daily life at the university, I think.
"Neira!"
Naglalakad ako pabalik sa dorm ko nang may pamilyar na boses akong narinig na tumawag ng pangalan ko. Tumigil ako at lumingon doon. It was Julianna. As she approached with a smile, I noticed she was accompanied by four other students. I was surprised to see her with friends, as I had never seen her socialize before. However, my attention had been focused on investigating the case of the missing student, so I hadn't had a chance to speak to her for a few days. Hindi ko maitatanggi na namiss ko ang maingay niyang boses.
I smiled back at her. "What is it?"
When she got close to me, she embraced me in a tight hug that made it hard to breathe. "I've missed you so much!" she exclaimed with genuine emotion.
"Hehehe. . ." Hindi ko alam ang i-re-reply ko dahil hindi ako sanay na may nag-sa-sabing miss nila ako. Niyakap ko nalang siya pabalik. "Hi-hindi ako makahinga. . ."
"Oh, I'm sorry. It is my birthday today!" Sabi niya nang magkalas ang yakap namin. "And I am inviting you to join in my celebration. Syempre, hindi kumpleto ang birthday ko kapag wala ang unang kaibigan ko rito sa University."
Wala naman akong lakad ngayon. Maglilinis lang ako ng room ko sa dormitory. Sa totoo lang, gusto kong magliwaliw muna dahil sobrang boring ng araw ko ngayon.
"Sige, pupunta ako." Sagot ko sa kanya.
"T-talaga?!" Hindi makapaniwalang sigaw niya. "Mamayang 5pm ang celebration and sa Morrisson Café ang handaan. Huwag kang ma-le-late, ah."
