READING the University newspaper left me feeling unsure about our program's visibility. Professor Collins had informed us that the confidentiality agreement we had signed prohibited any coverage of our work in the publication. Instead, all the credit was being directed to Detective Apollo. Although the professor had cited our safety as the reason for this secrecy, I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the story.
As I reflect on the resolution of our case, a surge of conflicting emotions washes over me. On the one hand, I'm elated that Crystle was able to uncover the missing items in an abandoned storage room. It's a small victory, but still a victory nonetheless. On the other hand, I'm left feeling frustrated and disappointed that the culprits responsible for the theft are still at large.
During our investigation, we discovered a laptop at the crime scene which, according to Crystle, was used to hack into the CCTV footage of each department. But while this gave us hope of identifying the thieves, we soon realized that the laptop contained only the software necessary to carry out the hacking, and no clues as to the culprits' identities. It's a setback that leaves me feeling deflated and uncertain about what to do next.
Despite this progress, we're still no closer to identifying the mastermind or the other four culprits. To make matters worse, Professor Collins erroneously reported that Miguel was caught as an only thief, providing incorrect information to the public. No matter how hard I try to distract myself, the haunting image of his suffering is a constant presence that refuses to be ignored.
